Collaboration, to make one you need a B.A. of over 3.5 and at least 1 solo submission over 3.5.
Its short for collaboration, its where a group of 2 or more people make parts for 1 movie or game (most often, a movie, and about 90% of all collabs on NG are formed via the BBS) But it could just be a group of friends working on 1 project together.
Well, usually, one user sets up a collab, with the theme he has chosen himself. Note that the user running the collab must have a Batting Average of 3.5 and a solo submission over 3.5 too. Any users who wish to participate in the said collab will make a small part, often a scene, under certain guidelines (FPS, stage size, BG colour). At the end of the deadline which the collab starter had previously set, the parts are all put together as a single flash submission, and the collab starter adds a certain number of users who participated in the said collab as buddies, or co-authors. These will show up in the portal.
Sorry for the wall of text, and I hope I explained it properly..
Talking about collabs, what about our? 1,5 hours since my last post and its still the final post...

No worries, I've got the link. Here you go =)
Thankfully, you don't have to meet those requirements to join a collab, although some collabs have specific entry rules to abide by.
I know you just wanted to know what a collab was, but in case you're interested in starting one, and don't meet the requirements, there is a website called NG Collabs which allows anyone to start a collab.
It certainly won't get as much publicity as here, but it might still go well.
Oh, and if you ever have a collab idea which is very original and you are 100% dedicated, then you may want to know that you can convince a mod to let you set up a collab on the Flash forum regardless of what requirements you meet.
But you'll have to try very hard!
Again, I know you only asked what one was, but I felt like going into detail, just for completion's sake =)
Doomsday-One, working on stuff better than preloaders. Marginally.
it means you have to be good at managing many people at once and contribute yourself and sort out problems and compile all the parts at the end, if i were you join a couple of collabs dont make one unless you are 200% sure that you will kepp it for many years and even then it can be risky business, just dont make a collab, join one

lmao i also made the internet. Nah, but this is actually a good thread because i think collabs these days arent really 'collaborative' per say.. its mostly artists working in their own bubble and then just mashing it all into one bin. Theres no real collaboration in that. Its more of a mixed bag of odds and ends than actually working together.
None

Why didn't tom mention that in his song :(
Basically a collab can be anything that a group people work together on. A flash, a song etc.
