Your work has been excellent so far, I really love your work very much. And now I realise that I haven't posted here yet... Excuse me for the long time.
It's funny... Looking at your work reminds me of how important is to draw quick and loose in order for having some hope of your cartoons start to acually move some day. So, I'm going to try to be less of a slowpoke these days. Thus, I tip my hat before you right here and now.
...Aaand, I like your self caricature. Makes me want to pay attention to the things you're going to say.
Great job, dude.

Hey guys! Thanks for all the really nice comments. Sorry that I've been away for so long. I got really busy at work and then the holidays and stuff. But I'll be around more during the New Year, I promise!

Here's some previews of comics I'm working on:

Your style of art, besides being very expressive and full of life, reminds me of Andrew Dickman's type of work for some reason. I don't know why, but it does.

Chymo: Thanks! I always liked looking at the newspaper and how they printed stuff. And old comics. Glad to see that somebody else appreciates it!

More doodles.

Mrflub: Thanks dude! Haha, I'm glad you like it and my Friday is off to a great start because of you!

Well, I just did a 40 panel comic with a good friend of mine. It would take literally DAYS to post it all here so I'll just post a preview and link my blog where it's at. Sorry, I hate to do this, but I just can't sit around and wait for the double post thing to go away. Here's the whole thing:

Your work is kinda like John Kricfalusi's crossed with Walt Disney's. Fabulous style. Like the one where the guy is puking in the other guys eye. Interesting.

It's why I never really learned to do math. Who knew that having a limitted amount of fingers could be the driving impetus of an art career?

Everyone should check out my buddy DAVID DE ROOJ's stuff! I did this fan art of his character FATS.

you sir, are the proverbial shit. You're style is pretty sick, i would like to see more small comic strip kinda pieces from you, instead of just posting doodles and single characters. Just small strips, i'm interesting in seeing you push the box dynamic that goes along with doing a strip

Capt. Ben: I've been hiding a bunch of these but since you asked, I thought I'd give you a preview. I'm trying to mass a bunch of animations and comics for a website I'd like to launch Dec. of this year. In order to be able to release steady content, I need to have a LOT up front, so that's why you haven't seen any of the animation/comic stuff that I've posted about

I'd like to ask you, and EVERYONE here a question. How important is it that a strip is ongoing (same characters, building off last week, etc.)? Would you keep coming back to a comic if it's just single gags like Far Side and Perry Bible Fellowship? I have a little bit of both, but defintely more gag cartoons. I'm wondering if I should focus on establishing characters because that's what people want, or if hilarious gags will keep people coming back.

I really appreciate the enthusiasm everyone's throwing at me. I'ma keep working hard on these animations for you guys!

Toon Hole.

Since it´s about closing time, I think it´s safe to post from work...

As a creator, it´s more convenient and satisfying make a completely differnt cartoon each time, but, as a reader, I love to follow the antics of a set o´ characters and getting fond of them...
Anyway, it wouldn´t be first time an occasional character in a series of stand-alone gag strip becomes a recurring one... Your work is going to be great anyway, so just surprise us.

...And I´ll second thedo12... Throw in some more chicks for me too, please... *¬v¬*

The best thing to do would be a balance of the two. Like Looney Toons.

All the episodes are self contained - however the characters are reoccurring.

You know that Elmur Fudd is an out-of-luck-but-never-give-up kind of a guy. So he can be in any unappreciated role and he makes sense. A janitor, Stage hand, Useless hunter. It's all good.

When I saw this - I thought of Elmur.

With a set-up like that - you can go for really outlandish settings and then even have all the characters team up and play basketball against some aliens.

Because it's all self contained. No one will find it weird.

That probably sounded like a whole lot of nothing...

hmm, i really like single gag comics, but i also really like continuing storylines. Have you read the online comic "Looking for Group"? I'm not sure if you'd at all be interested in the comic itself, but it's kinda structured like a fusion of the single gag and the continuous story. There's a definitive plot and each page advances it, but every page usually has one singular thing that's pretty funny (usually caused by the same character everytime).

You could always go somewhat on that route, get the best of both worlds
