4.09 / 5.00 15,161 ViewsI was just wondering. I'm sure some of us have noticed the thread a while ago where some guy just posted the "N word" repeatedly using the "]" bracket for the I in the word. The topic with the N word for a title was not deleted by Mods for nearly 2 hours I believe. Also in topic made just today involving something like Flying V Accessories, a user posted a picture of an actual cock which the mods have still neglected to delete after it has been posted for over an hour by now (it's on page 2 right now, but keep in mind the very last post on the page is the picture of a cock, so NSFW).
I know some of you may think of this as a form of back-seat modding, but its just a way of assisting them so they don't miss so many things like this, and it eliminates their necessity to check every single topic for material that's against the rules. If there was a button like a thumbs down or an "X" next to each post by a user, similar to marking abusive flash submission reviews, that would raise a red flag next to a topic's title for the mods to check out, and marking a topic to avoid for users who are in a situation where they cant view NSFW material.
It was just a thought I had and I was wondering if anyone else had thought about it or if members of the Newgrounds staff had considered adding something like this.
Rock On!
There are other tools the mod team could do with that would take a far bigger priority than a whistle system.
also, there's no cock to be found in that flying v topic

but I think this would be easier. Without letting the mod(s) know who you are and without bothering them as much.
I like this idea, you're on to something OP.

Not anymore haha.
And yeah about PMing mods, a lot of people just don't because they're lazy-asses. And it could still take mods time to respond to those PM's, so other users could still see some naughty stuff at bad times (even though im still not sure why people are on Newgrounds at jobs and stuff =/)
Rock On!

Or you could just pm us. Its not like we're going to announce to the bbs who is helping us clean up the mess. Getting a pm doesn't bother us either, well most of us.

I guess. But sometimes you don't want to be the little goody-two shoes that always helps out the mods.
I don't know, this "whistle" just seems like an improvement to the PM system for me.

Whats going to work better, a notification at the top of everypage that there's spam (ie our inbox(1)) or a page we maybe look at once an hour to see what a bunch of kids who like clicking buttons think. Hard to believe, I'm sure, but PM'ing is a better option.

ok... but it could be an auto-PM sent to all of the mods online about the situation. I guess the PM system does work, but I think that the whistle could be an improvement.

Wow I'm happy to see some intelligent responses here. I gotta say, I expected a lot less from Newgrounds. I'm proud of you all!
So anyway, It seems like the mods that have seen this topic aren't too crazy about the idea. It was just a suggestion I had and something I was wondering about.

Maybe they couldn't be arsed to make it. Or maybe some are afraid of progress. Probably not, but I guess it's just their opinion.

What if we could combine the two systems into one?
Huh?

That'd be shit. I don't want to open my PM inbox every day to see 50 PMs about shit that other mods have already taken care of.
