REP = Reputation.
There simply aren't enough intellectual humans in the world to effectively moderate NG BBS General. It would also serve, for those sections of NG BBS that don't need it as much as General, as a kind of reward-token shared good-will system which would only promote goodness.
I'll be the first one to say mocking an OP is sometimes humorous, even hilarious, however...
The extent to which some take it seems to necessitate a disciplinary system above and beyond how moderators could psychologically get to them by simply banning them. The rep system encourages positive contributive behavior, whatever hassles will be encountered in creating it would be justified in the end result; A Reformed SSSD/NGBBS Collaboration System Inc.
BTW, we've found dark matter (which is a core conjecture of Big Bang, which technically removes the need for being to of created the Universe, aka "God")!
For the religious i've turned agnostic, now that you're agnostic, it's only fitting that you make this your homepage. Also, review this daily to make sure you're prepared when you need to prove how unreasonable certain belief systems are.

It seems I'll not only have to proof read, but experiment beforehand too, to make sure what I try to convey is conveyed, properly.

I don't get it. Newgrounds needs some form of reputation system and that proves that God doesn't exist?

He's using everyone of these foolish redundant threads to simply enforce his atheists rants, he's got some interesting ideas but I doubt he's going to change anything. The humorous, obscene, and offensive antics of various members are what distinguish Newgrounds, I doubt they're going to stop anytime soon simply because he's offended by the jokes made at his expense. Users should just come to the conclusion Newgrounds never was and will never be a place for sophisticated, intelligent discussion. Things here just don't get any deeper than a cock joke.

what NO WAY YOU BE KIDDING MON OMG!

we ban users who break the rules. how fucking hard can it be to understand that? you have to find deeper meanings in a simple system as that? pay more attention in you math, philosophy or whatever, studies, and you might actually learn something. compared wiht trying to squeeze out some non-eisting psychological bullcrap that don't even exist on the NG BBS. Trust me, if we were competing over # of bans, you'd totally be aware of that, one way or another.
Most important though, the NG BBS is but a fraction of NG. NG BBS is not where NG gets money from, i.e. why the hell would they want to make it better than nessecary? Better waste the staffs resources on the flas portal etc.

So, all of a sudden you turn religious or whatever?
If you understood even a small part of string-theory, which would require 10+ diménsions to function (and that is correct mathematically, in five different ways even... maths never was wrong in the past. scary, eh?), you'd see that everything calculated don't take a "God" in the equations at all. There's no ruling out the existens of a "God" in any scientific studies, so don't pull yer tounge out too far, kiddo.

OP has hijacked his own thread.
And Newgrounds already had a reputation system. It was called popularity, and it was eventually removed for sucking so bad. A BBS reputation would be like that, but worse.

I think a reputation system might seem like a good idea, but it is too easy to turn it into a popularity contest. What would prevent someone from approving a person that they like and disapproving someone that they don't like regardless of the content?

We do not need a reputation system.
It just doesn't do an good. Users +1 the users they agree with and think are "super snazzy cool" and -1 the users that have different opinions then themselves. For example, on another forum, I lost three reputation points for saying that I don't download porn.
Also, ...the fuck does this have anything to do with god? Besides, black matter doesn't disprove God, it just shows that the Big Bang might have happened. God and the Big Bang, contrary to popular belief, can coexist.

So can Zeus and Lightning, right?
I mean, following your line of logic, we'd arrive at the conclusion that redundancies are an inherent part of viewing the universe outside, around, on, and inside of you. I mean, Magic and Electricity can co-exist, amirite!? All because one (electricity) removes the need for the other (Magic), doesn't make it less likely or even unreasonable to still believe in Magic, amirite!?
