Hey, I am interested in making music. What do you suggest the best version of FL studios, or if you don't like that, what do you recommend?

Ive worked on Fl 6,7 and 8 and 8 its by far my fav,if you have no experience with FL tho it might take awhile to learn the in's and out's of it.Ive been wroking with it for nearly twos years and still i know i have alot to learn.

But id just say get the demo of FL 8 and see how you like it.

Ummm, version as in "1,2,3,4,5,etc"? or version as in "Producer, XXL, etc"?

For the first one, 8 is obviously the best, since it's the newest/most improved/well just take my word for it ;)

For the Producer/XXL (I can't remember the other versions, but you get the point) Producer is the best, no questions asked (Unless you're rich, then just go buy XXL :P) It's priced really well, and it has almost all of the features that XXL has.

Make sure you try the demo out first though, to see if you even like the program at all.

yeah go around and try demos. try out fl demo, reason demo, logic, protools, whatevs. decide based on how much you want to spend.

i personally like reason, and lots of people like fl 'round these parts. go read the sticky regarding this topic and look at all the info there.

well i'd guess the latest version FL 8 would be the best, lol :) but I use 6 the most, still does what I need, and the running samples and plugins in FL 7 and 8 takes up considerably more CPU than 6 for whatever reason!?!?!? O_O

If your work isn't worth fighting for, it's not worth uploading on NG, period. (JrHager84)

I prefer FL's Producer edition, although I'd make sure you buy the soundfont player so you can use all the great free instruments the internet has to offer. And then if it isn't apparent from what the others have said- 8 is better than 7 is better than 6 is better than 5, etc.

Also, if you can afford it (or not, hahaha), I'd advise getting Reason as well. Running Fruity Loops inside Reason is pointless, but running Reason inside Fruity Loops is a grand experience.

i say if your just starting out use whichever FL you can get your hands on. when you become more experianced then look into what or where you want to go with your music.
