Now, I know some people have had problems with there xbox 360`s breaking, but how is it happening?
Me and my brother have had our xbox 360 for about a year now, and we havent had a single problem yet with it breaking or crashing or getting the RRoD.

Some people say that Nyko Intercooler may be one of the causes of RROD.
But there are others too.

The crappy machine parts that Microsoft put in the console were to blame.
No problems with mine so far, I want to keep it that way.

Well, I;m glad I don't have an XB0X 360! Behold the crapworks of Microsoft!
I guess I should ask my cousin if his XB0X 360 ever broke down.
he does have one.

If you had it for a year then you most likely bought a newer model which has a less chance of breaking.
I bought mine quite recently and had no hiccups with it.

Mine scratched the shit out of a game once, and RROD'd a couple weeks ago. I sent it to Microshit to repair and they sent me back a new replacement, that also had the fucking RROD. Of course this happens right before Castle Crashers comes out, and right before I gotta go on a boring vacation.

It's funny. A few weeks back, me and my friend were talking about it. A few days later, his 360 (from launch) got the RROD. Microsoft said there was a 10% chance of it been fixable, but against all odds it was fixed. To be honest, I think it's the motherboards because they keep on being changed. It hardly ever occurs. Ive had mine since Nov 07 with no problems too...
PS. Dont buy intercoolers as they make the console's fans spin faster and burn out, making the console useless...

Had it for 2 years. Broke down last year with an RRoD.
Suspected Cause: GPU failure.

Had mine attached for approaching a year now, it's improved performance substantially.
Kept it cool without any problems or damage.

The problem that the people had was that it was "stealing" energy from the console.
So I guess you have it set up properly.

RROD happens because the motherboard gets flexed under heat due to a design flaw.
Keep it kool kids.
Also don't suffocate it by putting it in a drawer or on a crowded shelf.
That was a great post. Right Zach?

I've had my 360 since the 2005 launch and it is still kickin' because I take care of it.

Perhaps you're just extremely lucky?
I never owned an XBox, nor do I care to. But I'll just say that the whole "Breaking Thing" might be due to the fact that it's made by Microsoft.
I laugh at your sigs!

So, over all, an X-Box 360 isn't something you'd wanna spend money on?
Would you buy it in comparision to the PS3?

It's not like it's guaranteed to happen at a certain time. It's just because the Xbox 360 was poorly made and it's very common for it to suffer from hardware failures. Hell, you'd be lucky, yet it's possible, to have your 360 working forever without suffering the RRoD.
My 360 had it before my brother gave it to me, then when he bought a new one I got his old one fixed, and I've been playing almost non-stop since I got it fixed two months ago, with no problems.
I have, however suffered from the RRoD once since it was fixed, but it worked immediately after and has worked fine since.

Yeah?
I have 3 bricked CoD4s and 2 bricked Halo 3s.
I'm doing the math on how expensive that is and I'm not liking the solution.
