Passport

I'm from the UK.

I've been 18 years old since February, so that means I can go to the shop and buy alcohol, cigarettes, porno magazines. But more importantly I can go out to pubs and bars (Or even gigs and buy a pint if I want).

However I need to keep some form of Identification on me, in case they want to check my age (Which they are really anal on in Cheltenham). I use my British Passport, it's the only I'D that I've got.

I got robbed recently, and as a result, my Passport/ID was stolen.

Now the only ID that i've got at the moment is my expired passport (Which has one of the corners cut) until I replace this one for £72, I've done this already but it's 2 weeks too arrive (If it arrives) . I would invest in a provisional driving license, but that costs a little bit, and if that got lost I'd have to pay money to replace that too.

So what I want to ask you guys from the UK is, will my expired UK British Passport work in the pubs

OR

Is there any other decent reliable form of ID that I can use (Which isn't fake)?

Buy a provisional licence and use it for identification.

I'd advise this, too.

The expired passport should work, but be prepared to be given grief from the doormen, as that's the only real power they hold in their jobs. It's obviously still you though, and the details aren't going to change just because it's expired, so make sure they know that.

Still, they have the power to turn you away if they aren't satisfied. Just get a provisional ASAP.
