I like Japan's anime, but that is where the buck stops. Thry are xenophobic bastards(I know, I went there once when I was 10), and everything is just too damn tight. The education system is 6 days a week, thus killing any chance for a social life, and getting into a good college there is even harder than the US of A. Don't be naive about a country, what may be a decent place to visit can be a terrible place to live.

You should be happy, I'd love go to Japan, it would probably be really interesting. Sure, learning another language will be hard, but you'll probably learn it a lot faster than expected since you'll be hearing it all of the time. Also, your parents are probably going want to see the rest of Asia, so you'll get to see a bunch of other countries aswell.

You can't just waltz into a country that is 100% different from your own and expect people to greet you with "Hello"s. They all assume that you don't speak Japanese, and they assume that you don't know their culture. They then don't know how to communicate with you, and they find it best to ignore you. I know, I learned from people who went there and people from there

I know nothing of the Japanese culture and I barely know any Japanese so I'm just a little afraid of how I'm going to interact with people and make new friends.
