After this race, the chase for teh Sprint Cup begins. It's been a good year.
And Jeff Gordon, I hear, is still in tha chase.
I got really REALLY heavy rain this morning as I posted on teh BBS. And Jim Cantore is broadcasting

Darn, A mod has given me advice, i was gonna go on holiday to wherever the hurricane takes place just to take a picture :P

I wake up, and my state's getting busted up by Tropical Storm Hannah. It's going to be dark and rainy for the next few days. But it's only a Tropical Storm, not a Hurricane.
It's not that bad yet, but then again Massachusetts is only getting hit by the outer part of the Tropical Storm right now. The eye still hasn't passed.

Hurricane Ike is heading for my area (Austin Texas) and I am watching this very carefully. I am a little concern about some users on newgrounds that I know of (that means you Goonie). They say that once they hit central Texas, it will be a category 2 storm with gust up to 125 miles per hour.
So this should be a very interesting weekend for me.

Fuck man, I live in Houston and Ike is supposed to hit around Thursday. My dad says he's not going to evacuate unless some serious shit goes down. But if the power goes out, how am I supposed to survive without the internet? Or my Xbox?

Same thing will happen to me most likely. I haven't had anything this dangerous to happen in eight years for me (most others were 11 years after the Tornadoes of 1997(In Jarrel, TX an F5 killed 27 people, that was 40 miles north of Austin)).
What I had to dealt with in the past were only 60 mph winds. During those tornadoes, I was on vacation. XD

Read a fucking book. I live here in Arlington, just north of you. We still get some serious crap here too but if the power goes out, then I'll probably get a candle or a flashlight and read. It's not that hard.

Yeah it is north of Houston, but isn't it like a little over 200 miles away?

I believe so. My grandmother lives down there so my dad went down there just this morning to try and bring her back but the traffic was too bad so he's staying down there with her. I pray for their safety.

That was fucking insane!!
The power went out at 8 pm last night. Everything is closed, and the whole city of Houston is out of power for at least 2 weeks. The storm itself was so strong, all the windows downtown are shattered, tons of trees went everywhere, all the traffic lights are broke or gone, and it's just a total mess. Galveston was completely under water as well. They got hit the hardest.
We left to College Station after the storm and are staying out of Houston till the power returns. Watching Ike tear everything up sure was fun.

I'm pretty sure that George Bush is just slow. I mean when the hurrricane hits and Texas is a bad as New Orleans people are gonna be saying "George Bush doesn't care about white people!"

//UPDATES\\
Hurricane Ike hit Texas pretty badly, and caused the following:
1. flooding on the streets. So much flooding that people had to ride boats through the street and helicopters picked up stranded people from their roofs
2. There are widespread power outages and major wrecks full of debris; especially wood.
Some power outages won't be cured for a month as the poles have been moved so far, and tangled together alot.
Is hurricane Katrina still worse? YOU TELL ME.
Similarities: Katrina caused people to be stranded on their roofs and be rescued just like Ike.
-but don't worry folks. the peak of the season will soon end-
-and the season itself ends in November.
I hope gfoxcook is ok. D:

I totally forgot he lived in my city too.
Everyone is fine, theres just no power anywhere. Water is scarce but contaminated. That's why I'm staying out of town for as long as it takes to get things back together.

I thought so.

Sounds like a smart idea to me! Hopefully gfoxcook evacuated! If not, then:
1. We won't hear from him for some time
2. Life won't be good for him now will it?
