Can I please do the intro? I've since improved from the submission I have (music video collab), I can give another example if you want.

Just one question though, and it may have been said before, but how long would the intro have to be?

I actually already had someone in mind to do the Intro but if you can show me a great example you can do it to. (:

Also, you can do the intro as long as you want to but if you do the intro you'll have to read the site I posted in my intro post very good so you know what every Rock genre is and can show it very fast in your intro. ;D

Anyway, show me your new example first. (:

Wonderwall is there biggest hit, it's awesome. (: You'll probably know that one once you've heard it. But before you make another post, can you please post your example of your newest work? ;D

Hey Bertn, quick question.
What's about the average time you would expect
one part to be.? I need to know ahead of time
so i can know how long to make each little clip.

Thanks :]

Oh well if you already had someone you were thinking of I don't mind backing off. Here's a rough (few things need fixing like the bed scene) preview of what I'm working on now though.

This I can definitely help with though. If you wanted to highlight the battle of Britpop, 'Roll With It' was the single they were releasing that Blur challenged with 'Country House'. If you want to go with their American success, 'Wonderwall' was the single that broke the ice here. Something from 'Be Here Now' would be good if you wanted to highlight the fall of Britpop that the special didn't really touch on. Sorry, I'm rambling.

Well, max 2 min, but that's really the max, in fact you can choose yourself how much time you need, but make sure it doesn't get boring! ;D

Nono, I don't even know if that person wants to do the intro, anyway, do you maybe still have another preview. I'm sorry for asking but 'cause of the fact there are only 8 parts and the intro is really important I really want to know for sure you're a great animator, this preview was good but not 'wow'. ;D

I have a few questions:

If we are using more than one band how will we make a transition between each song?
I've started doing the story board anamatic version of my iron maiden part for "Run to the Hills".
I started partway through the song, is that ok?
I also wondered if there will be a voice over like in the original, or is this purely just the music?

Im pretty worried about my part.
The style i used is meant to be a simple thing, and its gonna' be pretty hard animating guitars and stuff.

Im just scared i'll waste my time and you wont eccept it :(

You don't need to use only 1 band but if you do you'll have to make a mix of 2 songs by using a music editing program.

I've started doing the story board anamatic version of my iron maiden part for "Run to the Hills".
I started partway through the song, is that ok?

That's not a problem but you'll not be able to use whole the song...

I also wondered if there will be a voice over like in the original, or is this purely just the music?

You can do whatever you want, just make sure it looks and sounds cool.<3

If you think it will look crap or you won't be able to finish your part, please quit the collab asap. It's not that I want you out of the collab but I want to be sure that everyone will be able to finish his part and will be able to make a GOOD part. (:

Oh I've got an idea about this one! Can I have the intro?

I'm gonna spend some time on it, but I'll finish it before the deadline. (i hope)!

Well, the part isn't taken yet, you can still have it but I would like to see a preview of your most recent work. :3

At 8/29/08 05:29 AM, vato wrote: I see someone already has taken the intro. :[
But the only parts that are available doesn't interests me so I'd like to do this
(at least if you don't mind) I make an intro part the other makes one two and
you decide which one you will take, the one that has been rejected doesn't mean it's been
all for nothing, no the rejected intro can be in as a easter egg or a as an extra page: "Rejected Intro".

We could do that but I didn't accept anyone for the intro yet so...

I felt kinda the same way in the beginning, but,
just try not to think about it.

Just think about the flash, not weather or not people will like it.
That's what i try to do, and if people don't like it,
tell 'em they can kiss your ass.
ACTUALLY
I'll make you a deal.
If yours doesn't make it in,
i'll make another part, and we'll
put em together to make an awesome submission, lol.
We'll call it "7 Ages of Rock: Collab Rejects"

So just take pride in it, and it'll turn out great :]
Good luck man,

Ok well I thought I'd show you what I've done so far to give you a better idea (this is all wrough by the way):
http://spamtheweb.com/ul/upload/300808/3 6327_Seven_ages_of_rock_-_Maiden_run_to_
the_hills.php

Basically I started the song at the chorus, which I thought was most interesting to animate. If you're wanting us to do whole songs, thats ok, because I can go to the start work from there.
I'm going to work in animation of the band as well, but I thought this would work well for this part.
Are you wanting us to do full length songs? Just wondering because Maiden can be quite long.

No, I would like you to NOT de the whole song, it would probably take to long but only a part from the song. (:

I'm going to work in animation of the band as well, but I thought this would work well for this part.
Are you wanting us to do full length songs? Just wondering because Maiden can be quite long.

No, please don't do a full lenght song, only take like 30 second of one song so you could maybe use 2 song. (: Anyway, I've seen your animation but please don't forget that this collab is not only a music video collab, it's also about the ideals of the rock genre you choose. (:

Anyway, I'll be sure you can handle that.

Cool idea! I would have liked to do the Metal part but looks like its already taken!

If no one picks up the Experimental age then I might do something, I love Pink Floyd.

That's to bad...

You're welcome, I watched your movies and your animation skills are great. (: also, if you take Experimental Rock, please take David Bowie instead of Pink Floyd, I love Pink Floyd to but I think David Bowie can show the ideals of the Experimental age better than Pink Floyd. (:

Anyway, if you're good at sound edditing you could do a mix of them bouth. ;D

Well, you're in<3

Also, if you start animating, know 1 thing, it's not only a music video collab, it's also about the ideals of your rock genre, not only the music. (:

Also, here's an update of THA LIST:

Intro: a small intro that gives a fast view over the 7 ages of rock: OPEN!
Part 1: 'The Rock Revolution' 1963-1970: Night-Mare (Lochie) - Rolling stones, remix.
Part 2: 'The Experimental Rock' 1966-1980: J1mp
Part 3: 'The Birth of Punk' 1973-1980: K-Guare - Sex Pistols
Part 4: 'The Loudest Rock Genre, Heavy Metal' 1970-1991: Countevil - Metallica and Iron Maiden
Part 5: 'The Stadium Rock' 1965-1993: OPEN!
Part 6: 'Alternative Rock' 1980-1994: Otto - Nirvana
Part 7: 'The story of the British indie' 1980-2007: MarkyLyne

I didn't add anyone for the intro yet, there are 3 great artist who would like to do it, CobaltChloride, Vato and Morrowdays, I don't know which to choose yet, all 3 of them are great animators but I prefer Morrowdays because he really has his own style of animating...

Anyway, I let you guys know something from the moment I've decided. (:

I don't really like giving previews often, but,
i figured i'd show you guys the Intro i plan on using.
After this part, its going to zoom into the garage, where they're playing.
I'm still sketching and stuff, and i haven't worked too much with
lip sync, so this is good practice. :]

Suggestions are awesome, thanks :]

That's no problem, just make sure you can finish your part and give a good final product! ;D Please know that this collab isn't just a video collab and not only about the music of your rock genre but also about there ideals!

I'll add you to the list. :3

Part 7: 'The story of the British indie' 1980-2007: MarkyLyne

Also, about the intro, Morrowdays just send me PM saying he doesn't has time to make a long and good intro so I'll keep on searching for a very good animator to do the intro. (: (I was thinking about Marcy or Tommy VF ;D) I'll send them a PM right now. :3

Not true, if Marcy/Tommy don't do the intro, then it's open.
By the way, Bertn, we're doing
bios and stuff, right.? :D
Also, i'd imagine this to be a pretty long collab, we might
also need credits, and a great preloader game.

Man I dont really have tome to make a decent part for the collab to be honest. Im also really not a fan of Bowie and I wouldnt really be inspired to make a decent piece. Sorry man, if no ones done a decent piece in a few weeks i might be able to quickly do something but right now im pretty tied up.

Sorry man!

If you're worried about pink floyd not being experimental enough bertn, then don't. They were probubly one of the most experiemental around. A lot of their sound equipment and effects pedals they invented themselves to create unique sounds. You just have to look at their music videos to see how experimental they were.

Not true, if Marcy/Tommy don't do the intro, then it's open.
By the way, Bertn, we're doing
bios and stuff, right.? :D
Also, i'd imagine this to be a pretty long collab, we might
also need credits, and a great preloader game.

Just some suggestions :]

About the inro, Marcy and Tommy don't have time. ): Also, about your suggestions, I'll take care of all that, don't worry. (: I'll make sure we have an awesome preloader game, an awesome menu and shit. :3

That's too bad. ): I really want you in the collab but yea, if you don't have time... Anyway, I'll try to find someone else to do the expiremental part then. :]

I know Pink Floyd, don't worry about that, they are great and one of the most experimental bands in the world but I prefer David Bowie, his my favorite artist and musican EVER and yea, I think he is more experimental than Pink Floyd. (:

It's just, it's easier to animate the experimental Bowie than Pink Floyd, just draw Bowie dressed as a girl and you can start animating! ;D

Anyway, I'll try and find someone for the 2 open parts as fast as I can. :3

Me and Otto had a small fight (I won xD) but yea, he wasn't going to animate anything because of his 'personal problems', and he has a lot...

Anyway, he's out of the collab so NIRVANA IS OPEN AGAIN.<3
