Help with filesize 2008-08-25 13:25:03 Reply

Does anyone know how to make the filesize of an animation smaller? It's only 30 seconds long and the .swf is 17 mb lol.

Try File>Save and compact.

Thanks but i think its because i have a bunch of images in it... I tried pressing ctrl+shift+F2 and nothing happened.. Do I have to be on a certian frame or somthing?

Nevermind i figured it out... if you tracfe a bitmap does it make the filesize bigger?

No, it splits the bitmap data into a rough vector copy, it looks really nice.

No, it splits the bitmap data into a rough vector copy, it looks really nice.

Unless you do it poorly, then it just looks wiggly and... trace-bitmapped. It doe a poor job with gradients and areas with anti-aliasing. If you trace-bitmap, then clean it up a little,you can get a fairly accurate copy.

Gahh i tried all those ideas and all it did was make the .fla a little bit smaller and the .swf is still 17 mb

put the whole animation into one movie clip and then have that on one frame.....that might help...also reduce the quality of the sound slightly(if there is any) file > publish settings
