CL you are absolutely right we have little or no say.
You also have every right to express your opinion. If the Mod's or the Staff/owners here don't like it they'll ban it & or us.
But what I find interesting is even though compared to Canada, Great Britian has even stricter gun laws...they still have Gun crime. So while I understand their frustration with their huge problem with knifings, & I agree something needs to be done, they are going to make stiffer sentences for just being in public with a knife.
They like us here in Canada as well as in the U.S. have strick laws for HARMING SOMEONE WITH A WEAPON...they are seeming to be attempting to increase the penalties for just possesing the object while in public.

So they are not attempting to do away with knives.
They are not attempting to start a 'Knife registry'
But they are trying to do something. I just wonder as I've said to others here will they be banning sticks & rocks soon.
I can understand their frustration...but as we've seen here in Canada , the manditory Gun Registration
Has not worked... over 1 BILLION dollars spent and there's more gun crime now than when they started. 1 billiojn dollars is a lot of money in a country with only 36 million people, & most of them don't own guns !

It would be impossible to completely get rid of firearms in the USA. There are too many in circulation and if the government were to outlaw them completely, the illegal arms trade would skyrocket in this country. The reason why countries such as Great Britain have drastically fewer firearm related crimes, is because they have been regulating firearms for decades. The British 'Firearms Act' required citizens to register they're firearms following World War I.

getting rid of guns is the most retarded decision ever. ppl think it will make gun killings impossible. WRONG. gangs and crime groups will get their guns off the black market. then, when they decide to attack ppl, how are we supposed to defend ourselves? if someone's breaking into ur house with a gun, it's gonna take 9-1-1 an average of 4 minutes. that's plenty of time for you to get capped, robbed, and left 4 dead. nothing stops a home invader like the sound of a shotgun being cocked. that says "get the fuck out or you die" handguns work good too. before they enter the room, put a round into the wall in front of them. listen closly and you might hear them shitting their pants. guns are your only hope against other guns. you may not have skill, but them just knowing they're facing armed opposition makes them consider whether or not its worth it.
