What should be the collab rules

so many times you see people start collabs that fail or dont have the requirements, should there be changes to the rules so you dont have to check the peoples BA everytime a new collab starts up, maybe they have to post there BA in their starting post, it may help us when collabs start up, also discuss about if the min BA should be higher due to the clock day submissions

i think it should be a rule to actually put thought in the idea before you make a collab thread. Just type "collab" in the search bar - the number of results is overwhelming. It seems like many people want high scores so they pop a random idea out of their head and tell 20 people to animate it for them. Each collab author should know what kind of people he wants in his collab, should have a specific outcome that he wants out of the collab, and reasons why he thinks his collab could be different (/better) than your average random collab. example: i want to make a collab, it would be cool if ninja chicken and luis join because i know they are good animators, and the theme is about having buttsecks with the regs in luis's garage, while inglor is watching. i think it could excel from the other collabs because it deeply touches the emotions of the viewers as inglor watches the regs being raped.

I dont really see the use of posting the BA in the tread, because the people who read the rules and know them will have the required BA anyway, the ones who don't read the rules will not post their (to low) BA because they don't know that they should post it,
At least that is how i see it, so the idea kinda misses it point,

but if everybody sticks to the template its easier to find what you are looking for and people dont have to ask for the info. if everybody does it then noone will start a collab without it

no... there are collabs popping up everywhere, i saw one today who had started a collab and it was their first post. that just spams the forums and toast, i knda like the reason for making the collab and why the leader should do it thing.

I think there should be a seperate "collab" section on NG, where you can upload/embed .flas and .swf in posts, and there are propper rules and stuff, and when you submit it, there could be a higher upload space alloweb, maybee 20MB, and have unlimited co-authors, but in a drop-down list. What do you think?

yea sounds good, maybe a page where you can see all the collabs that are active in order and see ones that have finished. yea maybe extend the number of people co-authored

yep and theres 10000's of pages of it i bet, can they be deleted after they have finished? or the leader has to send a PM to one of the mods for it to be deleted would be nice.

i think there should be a sticky thread where all the active collab are listed and if you want to join one you see what you like from there, instead of waiting until it come to the top. if you search collab it takes time and you find old collab just a couple of pages back

Lets get the mods to spend all their time updating this sticky, day after day, that sounds like a blast.

Thing is, most people ignore the rules anyway, thats the problem, and I really dont see an easy fix. I think the rules are strict enough since the revision and now the only problem are jokers making topics about stick fight collabs. Its almost as annoying as this topic

looking at the nnumber of posts some of the people have that start spam collabs it looks like they dont, i saw a few users start a collab and it was their first posts, calling them clowns is putting it niccly in my terms.

How the hell is that gonna help? Those who read the rules only post if they have a BA high enough. They need to read the rules to see that they have to post their BA. Therefore its not gonna solve anything. People aren't going to say "BA: 2.56". Furthermore, if you want to help then don't be lazy and look it up yourself. It takes hardly any time at all.

You cannot change the rules 'cause of one day. Its always been over rated and most likely always will be. But thats the problem we've got to tackle. Not raising level for BA but nipping it in the bud and kicking these 10year olds who vote 5 for stats asses. This isn't youtube where everything is either 1 star or 5stars. The score system used to all work in perfect harmony with everything. Now its just fucked up. Portal mods is what we need.

How can you judge this? Someone could've put loads of effort into an idea yet its not considered good by a mod and disregarded. What makes the mods specialized to say whats a good idea and whats not? You gotta give people a chance to prove themselves and not totally disregard their ideas.

If you wanted specific people to take part in a collab then PM them and sort it out that way, no need to even make a topic at all.

But yeah, NegativeONE is right, its unlikely to happen. I don't think its the way to go either. Next thing you know it'll split off into animating forum and an actionscript forum like all the others which i absolutely detest. I love the way everything flash related is in this one section.

i hope it does i get tempted to often by all the collabs, im in 4 atm, metal, portal, NG, and beat em up. i hope haveing a collab become stale and the rots so theres more quality collabs than quantity collabs. people shouldbt get so influenced by them, says me, lol. nayway i dont know many peple in the forums so i mostly treat everyone the same, with my same old mixed happy posts
