I'm making an animation where the main "character" is a robot with one shiny pink eye. I'd like to go beyond the average gradients and highlights, to do something beyond the generic "shiny" look. Does anybody have any advice on how to draw/animate glass with somewhat accurate refraction and reflection? Links to tutorials, etc. Please help :)

I haven't seen any tutorials but you should find a glass object and examine it for hours.
Its a shitty advice, but its all I could come up with :P

Two or three gradients on top of each other should give a good look. Otherwise you need like Photoshop. Or a trick with blending filters which would be kind of intensive.
