Limewire=Safe?

Asking you Ngers, *sigh* I need to download Limewire, from the website www.limewire.com (lolz) but since I got viruses before I want to know, is it safe?
If I get another virus I wouldn't be able of using my pc ever again.....
Plz help me!

Depends on the file you download. Some of them have viruses so do a virus check after each download.

Me, I don't have it, it slows my computer down.

I've been using Limewire for three years now and never got a single virus from it.

The thing is, the actual software doesn't contain viruses... But because it's peer 2 peer the files being put on it can have them.

I generally find you're on the safe side if you ONLY download music with it. With music, it's easy to tell if a file's legitimate or simply a virus. Don't download applications like, ever... Even if an exe file looks legit, it can still have a virus on it.

No, it's not safe. Downloading any songs or limewire itself opens a hole in your firewall that any hacker can exploit. It's not a guarantee.

Delete System 32 first before you download it.

Limewires what I use and I haven't really noticed any problems ... burn CDs all the time with it and use to get movies off it but haven't in awhile. I'd recommend it though

Just be careful what you download with limewire.

Don't use Limewire. It sucks, and pirating is kinda against the rules of the BBS, but you don't have to download illegal stuff with Limewire :S

Limewire as a program is virus free. It's the stuff you download that may contain a virus. A word to the wise, viruses cannot be hidden in audio files. So if you just use the program to download music, your safe to go.

It depends on what you download. if you download any type of porn files, pics, video etc, youre most likely going to catch a virus

if you just are downloading regualar pics, videos and songs then you wont catch anything

Limewire is safe, but that's on my computer.
I'm not sure how it works for others, but I'm sure it doesn't have any viruses.
It all depends which version you download and where you download it from.

Just stick to audio files and you will be fine. But just to be on the safe side have a firewall up at all times to make sure. I have been using it for years now and I have not gotten any viruses.
