I tryed to make a car club too (The American Muscle Car Crew) and it floped too. I think most of the people here are to young to drive or something. They'd rather play video games and Dungeons and Dragons all day I guess.

I will start with the first conversation
Look at this from Car and Driver "Backfires":
Faking It
"I really enjoyed reading about thoese modified four-bangers. Why? Because it has proved once again that you can not substiture beef for rice. None of thses mega modified midget-mobiles could beat a stock '03 Ford SVT Cobra. C'mon! A $35,000 Jackson Racing Ford SVT focus?! Sure, some of that cost went into suspension, brakes, and tire. But if you put real horsepower into a Foucus you'd have to modify the rest of it. And $42,000 Honey-shrunk-the-minivan Civic Si? This car is destined to have that annoying muffler that sounds like a hole's been punched in it.
Whats the lesson? You can talk "fourgasm" all you want. But we, the V-8 engine enthusiasts, know your faking it."

What do you think of what he said?

Best way to pump up posts in this topic?

Start the old import vs. domestic flame war!

Woot!

Personally, I'd take a '97 Saab 9000 Aero anyday. mmMMMmmm... 225hp, 250tq stock. Properly modded they can be totally streetable with ~400hp on stock engine internals.
All from a turbo'd 2.3L 4-banger. mmMMMmmm....

I'm 15 and I have my restricted liscence so thats cool. I have an '81 Toyota Starlet with only a 1.3L umm 4k not to many mods at the moment. At the moment I'm taking a break from de-bumpering it, it's being a real bitch at the moment, soo when I get some money together I'm going to get it lowered and finish off my sound system..

But my dads car, now that is cool. A Mitsubishi Legnum, yea it's a wagon but a cool one. V6 with Fuel Injected Twin Turbo, oh and 4 wheel drive. It's also on factory alloys with a sorta half kit from the front to the sides, and it's awesome to drive might I add.

Oh and here's a pic of the mighty starlet!!

Nope, I live in a little place called New Zealand. The home of the All Blacks, America's cup winners a few years back, the first to see the sunrise, you know?

Anyways everything we got here is and import so yea. But that is quite an old skool starlet, the newer ones are much more rounded and stuffs. But I still like mine, oh and I finally got the bumper off.

Yeah, I don't think they ever imported 'starlets' to the US. it's always interesting seeing the different models that are imported to different parts of the world. Sometimes they just are a different name, sometimes their totally different. Like, a few years ago they were talking about the toyota trucks that terrorists were using, they had some weird name, but they were just the old T-100 models rebadged. And who knew that they were still making the old volkswagon beetles up until a few years ago?? I didn't.
