I think if all the former English colonies joined into one giant country we could control the world.
Do you think this is a good idea?

Too bad you all pay allegiance to King George rather than Queen Elizabeth... and your next monarch will be called King Obama.

Anyway no, that's an awful idea. I'd become an American before I'd agree to that!

Nah they just control a form of fule. They will be gone when its eventually gone in a couple of thousand years or whatever the predictions are. Money rules the world. It rules the poeple that need it for survival, the only people free from its rule are thoes who are self-sufficient.

You're an interesting character. On one hand you often criticize imperialism on part of the US, yet on many occasions you have glorified the exploits of England and your lost empire. And now you proclaim confidently that "England will always reign" as if you're proud of imperialism. Double standard.
Anyway, England doesn't reign, and never will again. English speaking countries combined currently do hold a dominant position in the world but this is because of the US. The UK, and England specifically, constitute a 2nd string participant. The UK today would be largely irrelevant were it not for its special relationship with the US.
And even then, the position the US has today is not akin to an empire of the same kind that the British Empire used to be. The US may have influence on other English speaking countries and non-English speaking countries, but the US isn't going on an annexing spree like you Limeys were doing up until just decades ago.

the US is not commonwealth, The only thing we share with the British now is Language. At this point, our Culture and cultural identity would not give Americans a feeling of 'membership' with the UK. We're a little too proud for that kind of title.

I don't know which is more ridiculous; that you actual think that idea is in any way, shape, or form a legitimate expression of human intelligence, or that with India, Pakistan, the entire Continents of North America and Australia, the entire British Isles, A quarter of Africa, a giant chunk of Asia, and various countries is South America and other Islands, that the most you you'd be willing to guess is that they "might" be the superpower.
Hahahahahaha, LiveCorpse is dead. Good Riddance.

There's no double standard. You can think "hey we must be awesome badasses we used to have an empire" and still think "empire building is not positive for the rest of the world."
Anyway half my patriotism is tongue in cheek.

So now all we need is a way to unite America, West African coastal countries, Egypt, India, Australia, and the UK?
There is a war going on in you're mind. People and ideas all competing for you're thoughts. And if you're thinking, you're winning.

We're irrelevant anyway. The idea that our international standing is somehow enhanced through getting ivolved in whatever wars America tells us to is a pathetic myth peddled by our own politicians. Obsequious crawling doesn't raise your international standing, it just turns you into a laughing stock with no dignity left. This 'special relationship' is only ever one way.
I think it would suit us a lot more to just leave the rest of the world to sort out it's own problems.

True, but that's because France grew a spine. They might get mocked by some for being the 'surrender monkeys' but they're a hell of a lot more willing than the UK to stand up for their independence. I think it started after the US sided with Nasser in the Suez crisis. The French then realised that they can't rely on America and pursued their own independent foreign policy under de Gaulle, doing things like withdrawing from NATO's integrated command structure. Britain just went on doing doing whatever America says. We need to go our own way.

The UK's natural home is with the EU. Over half of our trade is with the EU and it makes sense to deepen ties with the EU. By opting out of certain European legislations and directives, the influence of the UK is not as great as France or Germany. Too many Britons believe that the UK could still be independent and still be influential in world affairs, when the opposite is true.

Not really, considering it'd be a pain in the ass to try and manage India, Jamaica and Australia at the same time. For a start, try divvying up resources and materials to supply all of them.
