you gotta get out there, experiment, try new stuff and get the fuck out of the same old comfort zones of the same old cartoon/flathead/manga,anime/emo/whateve r routines that pin your skills down to thwe same damn spot.

Ughugh, i really sux at colouring, so ill just post the linework before i ruin it. Did a quick pencil sketch, scanned it and brushed up the lines in gimp. Looking back at my previouse coloured work, this will probably be closer to the finished product than after i colour it :P

I don't think it came out bad. I like the softness of it. I have been trying all night to do one, but i'm not having much luck. I can't paint for shite in photoshop. I just can't get anything to look right at all.

Okay cool. Well heres mine. I gave it a shot and it didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped. There were alot of things I couldn't pull off but it still looks alright. The Ent is supposed to be ripping it's roots/legs from the ground but it don't look as well as I wanted. It still counts even if it is a focus on the character and not the environment, right?

ok well since this theme isn't very creative andi t's the first time anythiings pretty much allowed..

but starting from the next chapter, the focus must exclusively be on the enviroment, design and mood of the atmosphere... characters are allowed but the primary focus of the illustration must be what i said above.

characters and figures are better used when you want to give your enviroment a story, a background... when you want to give a better idea of scale and proportion.. or anything that contributes to the whole illustration, without being the center piece in it.

ok people i decided to close the gates on friday GMT that way we can have the voting thread up for the weekend and the winner proclaimed in the next chapter... so we dont have to wait 2 bloody weeks to know the winner.
