I didn't drop out of school for people who can't read, I am home schooled. I have a backup plan. I didn't "drop out" for guitar hero, I had other reasons. I am playing all different types of games waiting for a new game to come out to become pro in. I am good at all the games I play but not the best. I will be one of the best in the game I decide to go pro in.

Stop criticizing my parents, they didn't decide for me. I did a ton of research and found out how determined I had to be. Hopefully kids don't follow blindly into this career just because they think it will be fun or easy to make money by playing video games.

Yeah, that's probably just about what you'd have to do in order to be taken seriously as a professional Guitar Hero player. That's really strange, though, because... There are all sorts of things that take real skill and talent to do that you can make a career out of, like biking(wether mountainbiking, BMX, any form of racing or trials performances) skating, acting, comedy and the list goes on and on. But at least with biking or skating you can do shows and performances outside of competitions, there are many applications for acting and everybody loves to laugh. With Guitar Hero what exactly can you do to redeem your skills for cash outside of competitions? It's not really something that you could do several shows a week with or something, so the income would be very iffy, not to mention the fact that you have to actually place in the competition to win ANYTHING.

But no, I'm obviously not thinking logically. This kid has made over $1,000 over the course of a few years, mostly in the form of free food. Who am I to say that he's not earning a reliable income?

Oh, my mistake. It was dumb of me to think that enduring a classroom environment might provide additional learning experience, build character and prepare him for the real world.

I did read that they hired tutors for him in the posted article. The point is that he's just a lazy kid that dosn't want to go to school. The difference between him and everyone else that dosn't like going to school is the fact that his parents actually let him give up on it in favor of persueing something frivolous.

By the way, I like how he plays the martyr at the end.

"A professional career in Guitar Hero" that is just pathetic! I understand if you're going to be a test gamer, a game critic, or other things as well that you get paid for to play video games, but just a career on Guitar Hero is the dumbest thing out there.

And remember, just because you can play Guitar Hero, doesn't mean you can play a real guitar.
