If I mod a map on halo 2 and go into a custom game on xbox live does my console get banned from live forever or just matchmaking?

Ah. If he's using it for ranked I'd imagine he'd be banned but what's wrong with personal matches/non-ranked matches?

I wanna mod in customs not matchmaking but i don't know if the ban hammer would strike me even if i don't get on mm.

You will get banned from matchmaking at a minimum but usually do not get banned from all of xbox live. Sometimes you do not even get banned from custom games but you WILL get banned from matchmaking.

I can imagine a full xbox live ban for life for modding game files, its a very serious offence in microsofts eyes.
Hw would you intend to mod the files anyway?
