No it doesn't. Not having an edit button is supposed to encourage people to put effort into their posts the first time, not to mention the amount of people who would change their posts to off topic posts. It would be a pain to follow conversations in topics where the posts have been changed, and it would make the job of the mods a lot harder to do. So no edit button is needed. Learn to get your posts right the first time.
