I live in a city in Ireland and i have broadband in a box 1mb a sec and a 48/1 contention rate for E26 a month, which sucks balls, and at home in the country i have another 1 mb line with a 12/1 rate for the same price.
Here in Ireland we can get anything from 1mb to 12mb lines, and buisnesses up to a gig which cost from E300 -E1000.
I think that it sucks so much that Ireland is one of the leading software exporters in the world and we have shit lines, i mean come on Thialand has better lines then us WTF!
I was wondering how good the connections are and how much it cost in the US

Screw that, probably half of Americans use T-Lan. For their Steam-filled fantasies what not.

There is no such thing as "US Broadband Speed", because services vary by bandwidth, price, and provider.
I have a 50mbps connection. No, I'm not on a college campus or anything -- it's at home. I once downloaded a 66 mb file (DirectX 9.0c from the Microsoft website) and it was done before I could change the folder to put the file in </brag>.
You can go much higher, of course, particularly for businesses and other organizations that need it. It can get very pricey though.

Because I think the US helped them, and now, they have super fast internet while here, The companies are trying to take over the internet instead of trying to beat Japan in fast internet. There should be a company from Japan that uses their lines, has insane speeds(VERY FUCKING FAST, download 1GB in 1 second to a minute), is cheap, and is available in the USA.
In other words, the US was the leader in internet shit, now, its getting raped.

Why do people buy sports cars? It's more than just getting from A to B, It's about having something extremely powerful because you can afford it and it makes you feel hardcore.
BBS Mod, PM me if you have something to report.

I can get up to 12 mbps during my ISP's off-peak hours. It's best around 3 AM, and worst around 2 PM.
