Here's a tl;dr summary for all you idiots. The people that buy these shirts are so fucking stupid that they need their shirts to be witty for them. That's it.

I don't know why people think the shirts they sell nowadays are even remotely funny. They sell dumb crap to people based on the premise that they're retro, geeky, but still cool because that's supposed to be cool 'cause they're like, trend-setters, right?
For twenty bucks as well as shipping costs, you can buy a t-shirt with a clever pun or pop culture reference or both so you can stand out from the crowd like the other hundred thousand people who ordered the same shirt.

It appeals to retards who think that what their shirt is saying is funny, which means that they're so fucking stupid they let their T-shirt talk for them. These are the same morons who gurgle and drool over LOLcats because they're cute in that same gay way that they want it, so they can go circle-jerk with their equally vapid friends while wearing those dumb shirts. It's not even original because there are at least 100 websites that sell the same junk at varying degrees of idiocy, like Snorg Tees, 80s Tees, Tees.com, etc, etc. all with the same labels: funny, cool, and retro, when they're never any one of them.

Let's break it down even further.

They're not funny because they're usually overused or silly jokes and puns, like "viva la evolucion [sic]" or "that's how I roll" with a multi-headed die; what a waste of ink, and if you're dumb enough to buy it, money. They're not any more 'cool' than the usual shit t-shirt you buy for twenty or thirty bucks a pop at Hollister or Hot Topic or any place they sell shirts for more than their actual value. You can buy your shirts at Walmart for the same quality, and with a little time and effort, you can make your own custom t-shirt, with the quality as good as the amount of time you spend making it. At least then you won't be a raging trendwhore.

It's all this fucking brand worship that forces me to buy more expensive and souvenir shirts because I can't get away with wearing a plain black or red shirt from some wiseasses who think it's funny to point out that I must be poor, frugal, or an immigrant for not wanting to spend some money for some imprinted design, not some kind of badass rebel like the other 9000 people who bought shit from Busted Tees.

The last thing I don't get is, how the fuck are these all "retro"? Retro means you're going back to styles of the past, but I never saw anyone wearing any T-shirts in the 1890's, or a Che shirt in the sixties, because Che was a commie bastard and that's sympathizing with the enemy. Is "retro" supposed to mean "a clean t-shirt that you might not be totally embarrassed to wear when your boss sees you in outside of work, unlike that god awful ugly emo getup you wear when you're in school"? In all honesty it sounds like a ploy invented by some consultant to make wearing smart-aleck shirts seem like they were once cool and now they're magically cool again.

You gotta love how they target the idiots who'll actually buy their shit. They always have some hot chick or some "trendy" guy (aka faggot) wearing it, sometimes without pants to enhance the loser appeal, even though no matter what they always look batshit retarded, as do the people who actually laugh at the imprinted garbage on their overpriced shirt.
