Google Adsense

I was just wondering what the programming forum thought of Google Adsense. Is it good, bad, average?

If you do currently use it, what is your CPM, and how many clicks do you get per one thousand unique visitors?

Adsense has been very good in my experience. You're really not supposed to discuss cpm/ecpm numbers though..

Adsense and tribalfusion are my two main providers, and they have performed leaps and bounds above other advertisers I've tried so far including chitika, burst direct, rightmedia, interclick, and more

AdSense were great untill they banned me. I still dont know why. My site wasnt even online and I just had an ad-box in the footer to see how it looked.

I clicked one ad that I was actually interested in. But I was going on page impressions not number of clicks. They just said, illegal activity and didnt give any specific detail. Now I need to try and find an alternaitve, which is near impossible. Also they were just about to setup payment to my bank account and that would have made life easier.

adbrite is horrible, i went to it after being banned from adsense and i wasn't even earning 10% of what adsense was :/

hopefully i'll be able to go back to adsense when my new site is up, if not i'll check out tribalfusion

Aye, using AdBrite now and after a few weeks their absolutly crap. I have made a total of $0.09 with them and in the same time I made over $20 with google on page views alone. A dropped AdBrite last week.

How about Bidvertiser and Text-LInk Ads? They both pay straight by PayPal and pay a lot more.

i have signed up for bidvertiser, but haven't used them yet, i've read some pretty bad reviews

I've been using Adsense for over a year now and have nothing but good things to say from the experience. Its incredibly easy to use, basically they make code for you and then you put it in your site. A month later (if your site doesn't suck) they send you a wonderful check. And it's only getting better, Google really knows what they're doing. Two Thumbs up to Adsense!

Adbrite's content targeting sucks! I remember when Shawn was using them on afro-ninja.com and the stuff displayed wasn't even remotely close to his content.

Yeah I set it up for texxt ads only and no adult content. Yet sometimes they show graphics with porn links. Which brought complaints!!!

oh yeah how could I forget them! they were TERRIBLE for my site. I think I made 10 bucks total over the course of several months with them.

That's clearly false, I broke the TOS by clicking my owns ads when I didn't realise it was against the rules, (Yes, I was a stupid naive 14 year old) and I got paid.

lol clicking your own ads, my friend told me that he mass clicked my advert with an autoclicker and i was fine with them (i told him not to do it in future), but the day i accidentally clicked my advert i got banned >:(

Aye am sure Google wouldnt want any bad publicity or anything. It dosnt make you better then anyone though. Every system they tryied to predict the unpredicatable and make assumptions about it, is flawed to some extent, even one made by a big company such as google.

Hell even the MET office get it wrong a lot of the time :)

I really need a good alternate, bidvertiser aren't raking in the money like Adsense did :(

if it was that long ago you can always try reapplying for adsense.

Adsense is okay. They're the most consistent CPC network anywhere.

I prefer Buzzlogic (CPM, they're great but you have to be invited). I used to like Widgetbucks, but they're beyond trash now. I had heard good things about Chitika and got great clickthrough rates, but they pay for shit (11 cents a click all the friggin' time... enough to make you lose your mind).

At least with adsense you can expect a reasonable amount of clicks and expect to be paid a reasonable amount. I run them on most of my sites.

Lately Google Adsense has been very good to me, it's really easy and you make a lot of extra money that way. Like if you're getting a good 1200 impressions on your ads you looking at like a dollar or a buck fifty, and it racks up in a month. But like if you're getting like 90,000 or something, like I remember I got that once and it was like $83 bucks or something just for having the ads on that day. Google Adsense is just very awesome.
