For starters it shows an incredibly naive way of looking at things. The very fundamentals of communism say "Equal work equal pay" but communism goes against this very doctrine. By communism if I mix hazardous chemicals that could go wrong at any second and cause me to die a slow and painful death, I am paid the same as the man who delivers pizza. This in not only unfair to me, but it is dangerous to every person in existence, because I have no incentive to work harder than the bare minimum and therefore no incentive to research my work. I know you are thinking that my life is a good enough incentive, but some dangers are hidden and are brought to light only by extra work that occurs because of a bonus offered for that extra work. In communism not everybody is treated the same. That is the case Joseph Stalin made when he became dictator of the Soviet Union, but within a year he already had special privileges. What you are thinking of is socialism, which was the beginning of communism. Socialism has some benefits, but they are unachievable without terrible consequences, chief among them, the prevalence of communism, which is socialism taken to a terrible extreme. Basically, socialism is an idealistic approach to a cynical world.

Communism is the idea of a ruling party pimping an entire society, so that everyone's equal. Socialism is what we need, real ideal Marxism.

I agree completely. It's actually better than our Republic the way it's supposed to be. We just mess up Communism more than we do Republics.

The US is a Republic not a Democracy.

communism has gained man negative attention due to frequent human rights abuses.

However i believe all current forms of communism do not work.
But it could work if it had a diiferent form and better human righst and more
power to the common man which is what communism is bout anyhow.

Communism works only in theory. We think it would be great if everyone got the same amount of money, same kind of car and so on. The truth is leaders tend to get greedy because the human mind works to compete and get ahead.

As humans we are trying to show we are better suited for a job, that we are sexy enough to get that girl, that we can be stronger than the next guy. It is in our primal instincts to try to fare better than others. So people get greedy and con the system to get ahead resulting in a loss of freedom to the other less fortunate people. This happens in countries that do not have amendments and freedoms like many countries do (I imaging the UK and Canada have something like out Bill of Rights and constitution)

I agree, it is mostly kids wearing the Che Guevara T shirsts, but that is beside the point.
I beleive that to make the world better, we need a more socialistic system, however, communism and marxism have it all wrong, and never will or have acheived anything, apart from bad reputations.
I think Guevara would probably turn in his grave somewhere in bolivia where he was shot if he knew that his face was being sold in The Gap. That just proooves Marxism is more of a fasion statement today.
I i am the sort who is very anti capitalist. It always irritates me-especialy right now, with banks takeing huge bonuses at the expence of the people, and i think that tighter controls on corporations are needed, but i dont think they should be nationalised like communism suggests.
However, i think that it is given a bad name.
it is just an idea that doesnt work out, but isnt designed to harm people, it just ends up doing it. it shouldnt be used, and only results in the people being oppresed more so, with no economy, and a iron fist dictator.
look at the communist nations right now-Vietnam, Cuba, China. all have trends of reputation.

Communism is the farthest thing from an obama administration. The Socialist parties candidate for president said that Obama is the epitome of Capitalistic ideals.

On another note, It'd be nearly impossible for anyone to turn this country into a communist country within 4-8 years.

In theory, a "good" Communist could be a great thing, but that's highly improbable considering the position has never been without its corruption (as far as I know, which is not much at that).

Reason why Communism is not a "good" thing and cannot work long term:

It is based on making everyone equal, sounds good right? Sure does... But when someone is genuinely a harder working, more moral, and generally a better person than the lowest peon in society; he is brought down to the peon's level to support his weight. EVERYONE can then be cast down to match the lowest common denominator.

Oh yeah, Communism's great on paper. But in actuallity, its awful. All communist countries are corrupt. People need to see that. China's economy is improving. Why? Because they're switching to capitalism. In communism, no matter how much harder you work than the other guy, you always make the same amount. Thats terrible. So, for you to say that, and if you live in the US, move to a communist country. See how you like it. Like voting? Not alot of that in a communist society. Yeah! ANd that's why over ten countries wanted to get away from the Soviet Union and establish democracies, right? Yeah! And that's why millions of people starved due to the corruption of the system and Stalin was free to complete his genocide, over twenty million people (thats more than three times of Hitler). Thats why you get to wait in line for one of the only friggin McDonalds in Russia for over three hours. Because communism is so great. So the lazy welfare-milking asshole next door can get the same as the hard-working, dependable man down the street.

I think the point should be put out there that communism has never actually existed in its true form, so we should decide whether the corrupt Soviet/Warsaw Pact/Chinese forms of "communism" are what are being discussed or the ideology set forth by Marx and Engels, which could never be achieved?

I lived in China almost a year. It's actually not bad. I love China, and even though they dont have Newgrounds, Chinese don't censor mp3 and movies. You can watch any holiwood movie for free from BAIDU. Chinese don't censor anything that violates property rights. I enjoyed all the free movies.

And you can buy any movie on a DVD for 10 Yuan, that's roughly 1.5 dollars!

And China is a capitalist country. Almost as capitalist as the US of A.

Yeah communism rules, communist leaders (all leaders actually) are dicks.

I agree, it is not. People think it's bad because that's the mindset of the United States, since they are a democratic, they want to make every other country democratic, which isn't gonna happen since most countrys don't really trust the United States anymore for anything...

What does Democracy have to do with Communism? You know you can have both right? Communism is just economy where the government owns everything, now if you want to say Capitilism, Pure Capitilism fails epiclly and leads to poverty, look at the Monopolies, people were buying out whole industries, thus they were able to regulate how much people pay for that particular product, since there is no competition. That is how Pure Capitlism died off and since then the system has been shifting to a Socio-Capitilistic Economy. Pure Captilism was exactly what motivated people to do Communism/Socialism

A economy regulated by the Government is Socialism, which is what has to happen in some way in order for it to work. What Communism was supposed to be was a extreme form of Socialism, everything is the same, there is some diversity, but the Government ensures no one really goes broke. Now the USSR wasn't exactly poor, they just had two wars that damaged them, the Russian Civil War and World War II, with the burning of Crops and the destruction of cities, of course sections of it are going to be poor, just like sections of the USA still haven't fully recovered from the Civil War. Now what you guys don't like about it is the Totalarian state, which is not required by Communism, in fact the USSR at one point had presidents.

Now for violating Human rights, that has nothing to do with Communism, as after all, the USA did it before, as did all the Western countries at one point, usually for racist motives, now was that because they were Capitilistic?
