Bejing 2008 Opening ...over the top

I recorded the bejing games opening and it was way over the top. Ussally its just a bunch of marchers bringing a torch or something.

They just blew all the other contries out of the water...

They all have had some form of gigantic spectacle other than just torch lighting. The Chinese are stereotypically very disciplined, and being able to prepare for this for such a long time, plus with their technological abilities, its understandable of why it was all so flashy. I was very impressed.

It has finally been realized that no one but old people cares to watch a bunch of people walk in a circle with flags. WE WANT LASERS, FIREWORKS, AND TECHNOLOGY!

Exactly! The bigger the spectacle the bigger the draw. People want to see a huge, extravagant, expensive and elaborate display; it's interesting to watch and I'm sure quite amazing to witness live.

Did you notice how in the beginning, everyone is smiling? It's like they're robots - they're told exactly what to do and they do it, or suffer the consequences.

Why wouldn't they be smiling, though? I can't imagine many of them were thinks "damn, I have to participate in the Olympics, I can't believe my horrible luck!"

This is why we don't have any Chinese emos or goths (or at least very little). They're all happy!

Dude that opening ceremony was amazing! If they have the technology and discipline to create an amazing opening to the Olympics, why wouldn't they?!

When I saw the Olympics I was amazed with the Chinese. When I watched that like block portion of the show, I had NO IDEA actual CHINESE PEOPLE were under those blocks moving those things! I thought it was all computerized until I saw the guys pop out from the blocks! I was like O_O

Yes, you may not think communist government is very good, but look at all the countries that have a communist government. They're powerful. Not just because of the government, but because the people have accepted it and live with it. I would however like to live in a free nation with less protection than a blocked nation with high protection.

I missed the opening ceremony, and i cant find a video of it on the internets at all! Even on youtube, when i finally do find it, it says it was removed due to copyright violation.
