Yeah sure! *thumbs up*
Hazzah!! So, got any stories ya'd like to share?

Hmm... any stories relating to Asperger's...

Well, a couple of them have got bullying in them, because of the way I was. A bit too personal to go into detail with.

I did do a comic strip for a college magazine between 2001-2004. Had a cult going on within the college apparently, so that was cool. Even signed 2 autographs and had an interview printed in the final copy of my year! lol. I always planned on turning it into an animated series one day, thats when I get what I need...

I was accused of being a "user" to one of my friends years ago because I always went round another friend's house. Didn't really realize the first friend's feelings. Didn't really grasp communication that well. Still don't, as I'm a bit gulliable and don't know some of the time if someone's taking a joke or not... I'd also say something accidentally that maybe horrible to someone because I won't realize it. Like when you plan on saying something and you think you've got it right to let it out of your mouth, but sometimes you get a negative response.

I'm cool with one-to-one conversations mainly, face-to-face. But more than one person and I end up feeling like a "cameraman" because I want something to say to contribute to the group, but its timing the right moment to but in that's a problem. Plus it depends on the subject. I mainly talk about certain video games and... I dunno other non-hobby related stuff.

Apparently when I went to an autism awareness meeting before uni, the speaker said I'm a model for true-uni-student material, or something like that :S

I don't look people in the eye that well, it's uncomfortable for me. I'd look well in a girl's eye when I fancy them or in a relationship with them. I've had 2 girlfriends, both from the net.

Lastly, ever since I knew of my Asperger's, I've been sharply aware of the split between Difference and "Normality" amongst our society. I hate it when people tell me to do stuff that's considered correct about socialising and being accepted within a society. For example, get any job after going through college and uni just because you have a degree and people thinking "Oh, he has a degree now, he can do anything" Yeah, WITHIN A CERTAIN SUBJECT YOU FUCKING DICKHEADS! OR someone telling you that small dishes go in the bottom shelf of a dishwhaser instead of the top I mean WAT DA FAAACK!?

So yeah, everyone's precious Normality (WHATEVER IT FUCKING IS TO THESE SHEEP) has an arch nemesis. Me.

Why can't they start realizing that NO-ONE is Normal, but DIFFERENT from one another, no matter how much or how less we have in common with someone else, there will ALWAYS be that certain something that makes us different. Normality only brings pointless murders on our streets just because we aren't this "Normal" that they speak of. If people aknowledge difference (to an extent where it contributes to not only mankind but a society of true peace) then we can get along and also learn new things amongst each other. If people are different in a bad way, then they should be directed onto a good path.

I'm all for Difference, one of 7 keys I believe that can unlock True Peace.

... lol, slightly off subject there (maybe) but there was something inside of me that had to get that out :D

On a random subject, I was classified as one of the top 100 gamers in 2004 by Game Stars ITV. Also I hate insects so much that at one point in Cornwall (England) when I was younger, a fly or wasp kept buzzing near me while I put a coat over me waving my arms... while walking 3 foot away from the edge of an estimated 50 foot cliff drop lol. OH, and I've cut myself while putting on a sock lol.

I'll try and think of more of my memories and experiences later! lol

One more thing, may I have that fancy NG Autism Club banner you have in your Signature please :P do I merely copy and paste it?

Hey hey, same here!~ :D But, I'm nowhere near as gullible as I was at age 7.
And I don't understand sarcasm. :\

I'm cool with one-to-one conversations mainly, face-to-face.

Ugh... I hate any kind of IRL conversation. I'm much moar comfortable on the internet. :)

Yea, from what I read, a common thing involved with Asperger's is only wanting to talk about one self's special interests and none other. I can't remember if I was ever like that, but nowadays, I can contribute to 80% of everything!

One more thing, may I have that fancy NG Autism Club banner you have in your Signature please :P do I merely copy and paste it?

Here's what to do.
Right-click, Save Image As... then go here to upload the file, and within a few moments it should be under every one of your posts.

Same here. Some of us actually found out before the inception of Wikipedia. All that last bunch of posts proves is that one person decided autistic equated with retarded and tried to make fun of us over it. (Joke's on him for making himself sound so stupid.)

my brother is autistic really bad

To be honest, I never personally encountered a case such that the autistic person is really alienated from the world, with these unable to speak and mass hysteria and absent-mindedness included (even self mutilation)

I kind of hope my kids won't come down with such a condition.

It's not all that bad because of the spectrum, you can have it mild or severe. Do remember though that there is something that exceeds within an autistic's or apsie's abilities at the cost of communication. They may even use this special ability or obsessie hobby to communicate in a different way rather than words.

I've heard a story on the net that this highly autistic kid was hitting, biting and throwing tantrums at other support assistants until one day this one support assistant heard him mutter a character from Star Wars. So the two of them started naming characters and ated out some scenes, which was a real breakthrough. Later the support assistant used Star War references for teaching the autistic kid about body language and communication. Kid's doing well now.

Oh, I'm sorry, I thought this was actually a joke thread, still, I'd love to stay around this club, just to relate to some people that is different, after all, bread sandwich isn't a meal. Sorry, it's an old Argentine saying, it means that speaking to people who and like the same things as you isn't interesting as there's nothing to tell to the other guy.

I have aspergers. Though I have this social order I find that I can still manage to direct actors effectively. I think most people who have overcome their social disorder will agree with me when I say "the only way to overcome autism is to study all aspects of social communication"

Yeah you're gonna have to bear with me because I can't tell sometimes if someone is actually taking the piss and being all evil like or they're just joking lol. As for the saying... hmm... I see some truth in there.

A drama teacher told me once (after playing an exercise game with the class) that I was born to lead. Although nowadays I feel that my views about this world would lead to World War III... anyway lol, I suppose you could study social communication that leads to a better society. Nowadays, the socialness tends to be confusing in situations that could be dealt with quickly with a simple and peaceful solution i.e. TV Drama and Real Drama.

No one sais that. The small dishes go on the top and the large dishes on the bottom, and that should just be common sense so that you don't end up breaking your dishwasher.
