FLStudio, volume distortion problem

Hello... I'm using FLStudio8 (3GB), but I've got a problem. I can't get the volume I want on my music, because if I crank up the volume knobs on the different instruments, the sound will get distorted. If I turn up the master volume, the same thing happens. Is there an easy way to fix this? I haven't tried, but in a worst case scenario, I would have to import the mp3 into another program to raise to volume, right? That would be tedious if I just wanna preview the song. Oh, and another thing, where do I get the best "electronic"-sounding percussion? Like an ambient or electro VST. Replies are much appreciated!

instead of turning up the volue of the instrument you want louder, turn down the volume of everything else.

I had this habit a while back, but now I dont have to worry about it.

that distortion is called "clipping." a quiet mix is always better than a distorted mix.

You need to learn how to Mix and Master your song. Often a song will clip, and distort without mastering, if not always.

But for now, i think you should go along with the suggestion of turning down other instruments.
