What's the point of...

What's the point of posting in a thread thats more than one page long.
Nobody ever reads past the first page, and some people don't even read past the opening post.
Can anyone give me some good reason's to post after the thread is already a page long.
Also after the like 5th post all the reply's sound the same. i.e, Topic: RARW I ARE NOOB, Reply 1: stfu noob Reply 2: i hate noobs, Reply 3: go die I hate you etc.

Well most newgrounders like to up their post count.
So they post in just about every thread they can with a stupid reply.

I for one usually read most of the posts that are in a thread (interesting/fun one) unless it is a 20 page long thread, then I will just skim it.

I think this is telling Newgrounds to make better more interesting threads and not stupid ones that are off the general forum in about an hour or less

Some people actually bother to read posts especially if the thread is interesting to them.
In some threads that are huge lets say the clubs people dont bother with the first pages anymore and each page is seen as the first page each getting replies as it goes on, in the end people may very well have no idea what discussions were on earlier but are interested in the new ones.

I actually I agree with you on that! I rarely post in any topic that has exceeded anything over ten posts or so. Once the thread has already been discussed, even if for a small time, the posts only become superflous and worthless, and less taken notice to as well. I'd like to know the point of it as much as you!

Because sometimes people have a keen interest in a certain topic and will keep an eye on all the replies. Obviously this doesn't happen in every thread, but there are thread interest stages;

1. The thread topic
2. The original post
3. The first few replies
4. Page 2 onwards

Now see I find in interesting that when a more serious and thoughtfull Topic is posted, and all of you, well mostly all have put some serious thought into your reply's each reply in this thread has been worth reading and its nearing a full page and the topic has not been over taken by random posts and unrelated issues.

i usually only post on threads longer than 1 page
if they're images [easily scannable]
or if its something im truly interested in or a post that i started
or a "help me" thread because you might actually give someone good advice
that others didnt give

i guess its a matter of opinion
you might not like a topic about a new tv show
but if you do and if a lot of people like that show and the thread is over 2 pages
you might just want to read a bit of it and talk about it because you like it

I think you're missing the point of posting in the first place, the purpose of posting in a topic is contributing to it and possibly adding some more discussion, while at the same time giving your opinion on the topic at hand. You shouldn't be posting to get the first reply or expect people to flock to your post. If your post is ignored then big deal, you still contributed to it.

Unless you just did it for the +1
