Since im broke as hell, I have to spend $1,000 out of my own pocket for my car. I dont want to spend more cause USC is expensive and working for the money is annoying. I was just wondering if anyone's first car was a crap $1,000 car like mine. Seeing how most of the users here are 12 and 13, im not expecting much feedback. =D I plan on getting the piece of crap in 8 months, or maybe a bit less.

I'm turning sixteen in September, so I'll soon be taking drivers-ed. I honestly don't have any places that I need to be, so owning my own car isn't necessary. My parents also own three cars, so I could always borrow one of them.

your dad's 6 year old hick-mobile is not worth 9 Gs. if there's a "Bush '04" sticker, rebel flag or fishing decal anywhere on it, you'd be better off trading it for magic beans.

noticing you said "was" btw. so you probably already did.

I'm still driving my first car, which coincidentally also cost exactly $1000. 97' Mazda Protege with 90,000 miles on it at the time, I've added a few thousand since I've had it. Crack in the windshield, engine light constantly on, air conditioning doesn't work, lock is broken on the driver side door, rattle in the exhaust, and a few days ago the plastic guard thing on the bottom front of the car fell off and was dragging on the road as I was driving. It has now fallen off completely.

For a first car it's good, and all I ever wanted was something that would get me from A to B. Plus it has that color that's somewhere between beige and gold, meaning that I never have to wash the thing because it's the exact same color as the dirt that accumulates on it. Even if I did make it sparkling clean, it's not like it would look good anyway since it's so full of dents that it looks like you squeezed a soda can too hard.

Suddenly I find that all those negative thoughts creeping around in the back of my head have been shot to the front in a blaze of unwelcomed glory.

I take the bus most of the time and get someone else to drive me around when I don't want to take the bus.

You see, I just don't really want to drive. Why bother when someone else can do it for you?

Calling me a liar? I got my truck for my birthday at a dealership that was priced at $8995.

It had originally 56k miles when I got it,

a single cab,

just had a change in tires,

and just got inspected.

That is actually a very good deal.

My First car was a pristine FireBird for free, the Guy was Pcsing, and he already had 1 to many cars and didn't wan't to pay the money for shipping the other car, the problem is that the car was FILLED with ciggaretes and other kinds of junk, BUT I got a hold of a PSP Data Transfer Cd, this was back before the PSP was updated to let you transfer data from your computer with out another program, It had a large ding taken out of the Headlights but still a fucking FIREBIRD then my dad sold it, and gave me "half" But in reality he sold it for 1000 and gave me 200 and told me he only got 400 for it.

Mine is worth about 5,000... probably worth a lot less than that now though, considering how badly I bagged it by accident.

I wish my parents would have gotten me a hunk of shit instead of a half-decent car, cause now I feel real bad about all that "learning how to drive" in your own car.

My first car was a 1990 Dodge Shadow.

I paid $300 for it.

The thing would last forever on a tank of gas.

Lasted about five months before the head gasket blew, causing oil to somehow get in my carburetor.

It was worth it.

What a coincidence, my car has all that plus the odometer stopped working lol. First car 96 mustang, and I've had to replace the engine after it bit a bearing. Ford's shit.

dont worry about it, lots of peoples first cars are around that price. You could always just wait a few extra months though and put a few more hundred dollars into it.
