God? Design? Sorry, its been on my mind alot now as an animator.

Think about it. Something clearer than 1080pixels, 1280 pixels? and probably infinite fps.

Sometimes in a way, i feel that animators somewhat think of themselves as a godlike figure to some extent, creating life to the eyes to its viewers. Any other animators feel the same way?

Oscar Johnson can go far, I believe in him and his Castle Series but he's not the best yet. There are lots of talented people out there that get better every day. Styles change, new ideas. Sometimes it can be greatly animated with good special effects but some people will rate low if the animator didn't create a good story, rather a boring story for the animation. It's an all around balance and people improve every day. Some animators leave, new come. New legends arise from the beginner sections.

I myself hoped to develop into a full body artist or a really good stick figure artist. But as time pasted, I lurked around the new fun stuff that came to an interest to me, like creating music and mostly playing games like Counter Strike Source which takes most my animating time. Sure you can push yourself but animate only if you like it, and maybe even love it and it's fun for you. Then you will really have the most motivation to improve. Other than that, I actually dropped animating for 3 months now. But I started making a movie, the music which I listened over and over again inspired me, along with the Castle 3 series. I started making Castle 3 Tribute: Run Away.

That track was called: Def Con in the Castle 3 movie.

Compared to the average Newgrounds animator, indeed.. But he's 37 and worked hard to be where he is today..

Adam Phiilips made Water Lollies and quite a few other great animations.
You can find it by going to the Flash Portal and looking at the number 1 spot on the top 50 on the right.

Adam Phillips may be the best Flash animator, or at least most dedicated to quality and detail however I don't think he's even near the best 'animator'.
I guess there are plenty of better animators hiding away in Disney and Studio Ghibli, the only difference is that they work collaboratively and on a much larger scale.

I feel like Adam Philips' work is like Studio Ghibli and Disney combined

afaik adam phillips never got fired. rather, he quit to pursue his own dreams.

and he was working as an effect artist at disney australia. you can see him in the credits of lion king 2. ;)

as a stick animator, I like Terkoiz, Oni-meh(known as beyondrage nowadays), LF2 Master, Stone, and Micool. The one I choose would havta be Justsolo, he's awesome with actionscript. If you don't know these artists works, look them up ^^

Hayao Miazaki, Chuck Jones and Hideki Anno are damn good.

Miazaki = Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle
Chuck Jones = Warners Bros cartoons
Hideki Anno = Evangelion (New movies coming out now with exceptional quality)

These people inspire me.

As for animators on Newgrounds, Nacho Tururu and Adam Philips, but I'm sure there are other great animators out there that aren't as popular.

My three favourites would be Adam Philips, Alexander Petrov and Saul Bass.

As far as creativity goes saul bass wins (he's one of the most renowned opening credits animators, he did catch me if you can, Anatomy of a murderer and so on). Within the flash world I would say Adam Philips, He has made backgrounds in flash that are completely ground breaking. As for Alexander Petrov He is the most tedious. He made "The Old Man and the Sea" animated movie about Hemmingway's novel with the same title. He painted every single frame. There were over 2000 frames I believe, and he painted every single one.... = O

well thats my view, But honestly anyone could be the best in my humble opinion. It's the determination that sets great animators apart from good animators. Really I believe anyone could animate Bitey swimming In a pristine lake, it's just a matter of how long it takes you. Pro's can get things done faster so there is less loss in motivation.

Well I've ranted, THAT IS ALL

Tim Allen+Santa Claus= A flash that doesn't have nearly enough views! Watch The Tim Allen!
