I didn't really see any clubs similar to this subject, so I propose this creation of a club devoted to the discussion of reggae music, culture, ideals, etc.

The rules are simple:
-- No spamming
-- Respect others views
-- Try to keep the discussion on topic

Anyone is welcome to join, and should start by naming a few of their favorite reggae artists.

The discussion is not only limited to the musical aspects of reggae, but other cultural aspects of the genre as well, Such as Rastafariaism. But ultimately the discussion should be in someway related to reggae.

A few of my favorites include:

Eek a Mouse
Dillinger
Clint Eastwood
obligatory Bob Marley..

Reggae is fantastic. SOJA is my alltime favorite reggae band.

Damian Marley features him and bounty killer in one of his songs.
you cant really make anything close to eek-a-mouse, hes got such a unique style.

Yeah, I'm not really sure of anything resembling Eek that much. Your best bet is probably to try Pandora..

Does anyone here know/like rebelution? My friend loves them and put them on when we were high a few months ago. I really like "safe and sound" and "feeling alright".

They're not bad, but probably not something I would regularly listen to.

I prefer the more "ethnic" vocalists

Hey I'll join and whatnot, I'm a huge Marley fan and I love UB40. Not the best catalogue of Reggae artists, I know, but that's why I'm joining. So can anyone recommend me some good reggae artists?

Toots and The Maytals are essential and amazing. I like a lot of early Ska/rocksteady/reggae bands/artists too. Prince Buster, Desmond Dekker & the Aces, and The Skatalites.

I hate people who spell Lynard Skynard wrong.

I only listen to Bob Marley, but from what I've heard, HE"S AWESOME AND SO IS REGGAE.

I used to listen to Legends as a kid and I still listen to it all the time. Three Little Birds has to be one of the best songs ever made.
