Indeed, not all that impressive... if you added more glow to the lines, and threw in more wild colors...

made them look more like they wrapped around the building... (making sure they end at the edge, and not before or after)
maybe try cutting out the buildings completely in order to add glows or something else behind/in front...

Make everything different colours, and change the direction of the squiggles a lil more.

I agree with what people are saying about the lines but a think most the broblem lies with the picture, its to dark. It has to be with the same lightness as the lights/lines overwise it looks to seperated and doesn't reli feel like to different images stuck togerther rather than blended (well).
post any updates if you do them i wana see how this turns out :D
