4.09 / 5.00 15,161 ViewsI'm working on a new piece for The Newgrounds Intro Collab. I usually work at 12 fps (low, I know) but due to popular demand, the FPS on the collab has been raised to 24...
As I had already made a piece, I tried to adjust that to the new FPS, but the sound, which had previously worked fine, is now out of sync. It worked when I hit enter on the timeline, but if I tried to Publish Preview it, the sound went ahead of the animation.
Thinking that it was just messed up because I had changed the FPS, and then altered the frames, I made a whole new part on a different scene, but the same problem occurred. I then copied the frames into a different fla, and the sounds worked perfectly.
What is wrong with my original file?
Thanks,

It's got nothing to do with the collab though..it wasn't the collab's fault...
oh ok I'll post my flash problems in your collab topic. It's not flashes fault after all.

What? I was just giving my situation. If I hadn't said that, you wouldn't have had a problem with me posting my sound problem in the forum...I'm confused now....
Did you try changing the sound type to stream. If it's event then your machine is probably lagging a little due to doubling the frame rate and therefor the sound can't keep up.
Sorry I'm very bitter and twisted about collabs, you handled my childishness it very well though and for that you earn respect :)

I tried stream and event, and there was no difference, except that event was worse...
But the weird thing that the exact same frames work on a different fla...

I'm not one for collabs either, but since I recently got a BA of 3.5, I just couldn't resist making one....
Thanks for the respect. You get some of mine for apologising..

Exact same frames different flash works eh?
Did you check that publish settings are the same? Are you sure the different flash is also 24 fps?

Everything is the exact same, except for the original one has a menu and preloader, but would that make any difference?
Sorry it took me a while to respond, but you know there's that 4 posts on the same thread in 30 mins rule...

Picture spamming noob =P
I have this problem when it's set to 'Stream' as well. The best thing you can do is find out whereabouts in the movie the animation gets ahead of the sound and add a couple of extra frames at that point on every layer except the one(s) with sounds.
Thanks for all the help, guys, I figured it out (even though i can't figure out why it worked). All I did was put each scene in a Movie Clip first....kinda confusing...
