I just got started on Ubuntu and I'm trying to set google as my home page.
How do you do it?

First of all, please don't bumb your topics if they haven't fallen off the first page (and even then you shouldn't bump them). Your topic was the second highest in this forum (not counting the sticky topics of course), so there really was no need for you to bump it.

Ok, back to topic. What browser are you using? Telling us which OS you are using isn't that helpful to be honest, as you set the start page (I guess that is what you want...) in your browser, not in your OS.

I'm not familiar with Ubuntu, but most web browsers have some sort of options menu where the homepage can be set. If you haven't already gone through all the menus, you probably should now.

Then go to Tools > Options > Main. that should work unless Firefox is very different in your operating system.

There's no such thing as Firefox 7.1 That would be Internet Explorer. With Firefox you drag the website icon [ the little picture in the URL/address bar] to the house button.
