Before yesterday when my friend recommended me listen to Coheed and Camrbia and Breaking Benjamin I never liked rock. I've always listened to rap before this but seeing as how much I like the songs "Welcome Home, So Cold, and Diary of Jane" I think rock might be my new genre.
Can anyone recommend me artists similar to Coheed and Cambria and Breaking Benjamin and songs you'd think I'd like if I liked the songs listed above?
Thanks NG

What? If I hear white guys singing, drums, and a guitar I just assume it's rock.
Well...whatever genre they are, anybody know any similar bands?

I would recommend a band called Dredg. They are kind of an artsy rock band. I can't really say who they sound like because their sound is pretty unique.

That's because I sent you their softer stuff.

I suggest you listen to the classics first.
Iron Maiden
Rush
The Police
Black Sabbath
AC/DC
FFRRRREEEEEE BIIIIRRRRDDDDD
Boston
Then you should move onto the 80s-90s
Bon Jovi
Weezer
(Anything in between)
Then you should check out
Muse
Motley Crue
Avenge Sevenfold
Metallica
More Coheed and Cambria
More Bon Jovi
Bang Camero
Papa Roach
Oasis
And by then, you should know what you like best.

It's good that you're starting to like rock. I like Marilyn Manson, Ozzy, Metallica, Iron Maiden... try any of those.
I'd love to hear from you. :3 | E-Mail: evansweeney@gmx.com | AIM: EvantheDeku | Oh dear, Dekuboy is back..

I'll recommend a few bands from different sorts of genre's:
Generic/Mainstream Rock: Lost Prophets, Elliott Minor, Bloc Party, Blink-182, My Chemical Romance, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Angels And Airwaves, 30 Seconds To Mars, Paramore, Fall Out Boy, Linkin Park, Muse, Nickelback,
Muse isn't even close to generic.
but I would recommend you Rage Against The Machine if you like Hip Hop and want to branch out. Also, you might like Nine Inch Nails.
And I couldn't recommend the website, www.pandora.com more. Just type in Coheed and Breaking Ben in the Artists I like, and it will create a radio station with similar artists.
