Definately not. After a while you start to actually dislike the dark and hogging GUI, and after that there is no advantage. It's slower, more limiting, and I was particularly annoyed with the compatibility issues. I mean COME ON, it was never this bad whenever Windows used to upgrade.

My 2nd laptop is running Windows XP, but I've lost the power plug for that.

I have XP home on my laptop. I had Ubuntu on it, but had a lot of problems getting things to work correctly (maybe one day, linux). But as for now i like the ease of use when i t comes to XP, or windows in general. I had bad problems with 98 and ME all my life, constant blue screens, but truth is, I've NEVER had a problem with XP, on anyones computer. As for vista, it's on my dad's new desktop, and i'm not going to say I don't like it, but id much prefer XP over is. Maybe after a few Service Packs it'ss be better (like XP was when it came out).

As for OSX, or Macs in general? WTF. I tried installing I-Tunes on one once... Took me over 3 hours. Still didn't work right. Tried installing it on XP, done in 5 minutes. I've never had good luck with Macs. From what I udnerstand they are great if you want to do any sort of Multimedia editing, but even then a good windows machine can do anything a mac can. Anything else tho, and macs are damn near useless...
