We always seems to get trends (like goth and heavy metal) from Europe, I wonder if this would ever get to the US.

It is true that we "catch" trends from other countries but this one just seems to wierd. I have a question that fits ths forum. Does Europe have or Asia have emos? We have tons where I live.

No. Ganguro is the Japanese girl's way to show:

1) That she does not like the traditional homoracial culture of Japan
2) That she is a non-black person who loves black people and culture

The first doesn't apply to the USA, since this country is diverse. The 2nd applies. The 2nd shows itself as a subculture to the American black subculture i.e. hip-hop music, rap, and wiggers. So Ganguro will stay in Japan.

At best, something similar will pop up in South Korea since, according to my friend who lived on a military base there, they love black people.

That has to be the gayest-looking thing I've ever seen. Seriously, they're so heavily made-up they look like transvestites. If it does catch on here, it's going to begin in the drag shows, spread into the gay community, and enter the mainstream through a revival of "metrosexuality". Hopefully, though, it won't. Though according to the Flash Portal stats page, one of this site's most-viewed animations is Ganguro Girl 1.5, so yeah.
