I used to play the drums a long long time ago.

I've been playing the drums for about 3 years.

I can also do metal screams if that counts.

So you're saying that the type of music that you enjoy is the only true style of music, and that all of these other genres of music are just fads? Judging from you playing the flute and cello, I'm assuming that concert style music is you're idea of the core genre of music where fads never die. It really bothers me when people think that certain styles or types of music are more good then other ones. Are you telling me that bands like Mr. Bungle, Hella, Trevor Dunn's Trio Convulsant, or even Between the Buried and Me are just these fads? Rock, jazz, metal, rap, techno, everything, its all good to me.

I've seen some pretty rockin bands with saxophonists. I'd love to see a rock band with both a violin and a saxophone. Two of the most underused instruments in rock and roll.

Personally, I also play guitar. As someone was good to mention, I don't mean that in the douchey "I can play Stairway to Heaven" nonsense. I write my own music. It is a lot of fun.

But God, I cannot stand the people who play the same shitty stuff on their shitty fucking guitars on campus.

i know what your saying the crappy teenagers who think they can play but someone dedicated like me can whup their ass in playing all types of music everything from blues to death metaal i play

I play drums and guitar and love playing! I try to play every day.

I'm pretty much a one-man band!

I play Guitar, Bass, Piano, Drums, and Vocals.

I'm an essential part to any band!

You totally sound like a dick, but you're absolutely right. I hate it when people who study music theory are all like : "ZOMFG I WROTES THIS SONGS BUTS I CAN'TS PLAYS ITS!!!"

Write your songs around your hooks, don't write a bunch of hooks you can't play and then claim you wrote an awesome song. Hell, "Roll Out the Barrel" (old school polka tune) is BAD ASS if you play it right, but the theory behind it is ass.

And yes, I actually get gigs, so I can totally talk much shit.

Keyboard/piano (intuitive, self-taught; 10 years at most, can't remember)
Vocals (self-taught, intuitive; as long as i've been able to talk)
