1) I bought a Metal Gear game... either let me play as Snake or don't call it Metal Gear. You control Mega Man in Mega Man games. You control Samus in Metroid games. You control Snake in Metal Gear... period. Anything else is an unexcusable fail.

2) He was a pussy and a homosexual.

3) He didn't do shit... the game was lame and the story sucked. I've never been so disapointed in a game.

I actually like Raiden a little bit, but the fact that he took over from Snake so early on in MGS2 pissed me off.

Raiden was OK in my opinion, but he was also whiny as hell. `Colonel, I can`t defuse a bonb! I`ve never done it before! BWAHHH!` `Raiden, you`re not defusing it! You just have to freeze that fucking piece of shit!`

he's an arrogant dick who thinks he's a badass cuz he's good at training video games. he acts likehe's better than snake even though he dosn't have shit as far as field experience goes. straight up, he's annoying, but he did redeem himself in MGS4. he's a total badass there.

I am a bigfan of the metalgear series and raiden will never live up to snake if he is the main charector if there is another sequel i seriously wont play it

Remember when Raiden took on all of the Sons of Liberty, which included a mad bomber, a "fortunate" lightning goddess, and a vampire? Remember when he defeated a fucking jet? Remember when he was forced to kick ass while having no idea what the hell was going on, while naked? Remember when he blew up somewhere around 10 fucking Metal Gears at the same time? Remember when he defeated his own dual-sword-wielding godfather on the roof of Federal Hall?

It's just like what Snake did at Shadow Moses except times about 50.

Tell me Raiden is not a complete badass even back in MGS2.

Plus he was a much more interesting character, what with his story and strained relationship with an admittedly irritating girlfriend.

It's just cause snake is all bad ass and awesome and everyone was expecting him and then MGS2 comes out and you start playing as some other guy that bleeds jizz... and you're like WTF!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Raiden is one of the best MK characters, he comes in my top 5.

To those wondering, Raiden will be coming back as the main character in the fifth game.

At first I thought you were talking about MK, and them I read he was BI, I was like WTF?
I was Dissapoint.

I remember hearing about a sequel to MGS1 and being sooo excited about being able to play as snake a character who I had a man crush on ever since I first played him during shadow Moses.I remember the tanker chapter and how revolutionary the graphics were, how I could see snakes face to see what he really looked like.then I reprise the role of a blond skinny guy who I didnt get.I believe I threw my controller on the ground in disgust and anger thats how upset I was.

but that was many years ago.As I played it more and more I grew to respect Raiden.the fact that he had only VR training, and how he was thrown into a chaotic and dangerous real life scenario.He did things that would make lots of rookies scared and be totally feeling defenseless.

in this way gamers could relate to somebody who like themselves were never put up against a situation like Snake.
Plus it was great seeing snake from another perspective this just enhanced him even more as a legendary soldier.

I like him.

i didn't really hated him but i think most of people hate raiden (mgs character not mk) because he is good at virtual training and sounded like a game nerd and because he was a little afraid at first for killing a real person aaaaand because he uses wigs (sounds gay) unlike snake using bandanas

MGS2 was the first MGS game i played, and somehow i skipped the tank chapter, so i always thought Raiden was the real hero all the time... well... until i played SSBB where Snake was. and i was like WTF! why is Iroquois Pliskin in SSBB and not Raiden? i hadn't comed to the part he told he was Solid Snake yet xD
i played MGS2 once more, and this time i got to play the tank chapter. which i liked better because there was Snake and Otacon which i had heard about.
but MGS2 confused me to. Olga showing off as a Cyborg Ninja who looked like Gray Fox (i did lots of research while playing) and Ocelot who i always thought was Liquid because of that arm. and Solidus... wait? Solid or Solidus?...

i later got to play MGS1. and i noticed from the start, that the games are indentical! the intro with the swimming suit, the colonel, the bosses where freaks, and i had to rescue the Darpa chief and the president, in MGS2 you rescued Ames and the president. all 4 of them died suddenly...
in MGS1, you team up with Maryl, MGS2, Pliskin.
all these resembles made me dizzy, until the end of MGS2. where Ocelot says that the events of the plant chapter was a simulation of the events of Shadow Moses. it was all scripted by the Patriots.
the only part that was not scripted was the apperance of Solid Snake himself.

everything happened while Raiden was crying for his mom xD
i had no problems with Raiden after this either. i kinda liked his story. not many games have back story for almost every character in the series.

and MGS3 is Big Boss, not Solid Snake =P
so in all the 4 main games in the series you use Solid Snake only in MGS1 and Old Snake in MGS4 xD

Everyone was so hyped up for MGS 2, and when it came out, it was like:

"HOLY SHIT THIS IS AWESOME SNAKE KICKS ASS WHOA THAT TANKER'S SINKING OH...wait what? Who the fuck is this guy? where's Snake?"

That is why everyone hates him.

What?! I loved MGS2 and I like Raiden..

Quinten Flynn didnt have much to work with in the lines provided in mgs2, his dialogue was probably written by a twelve year old, but he pulled it off decently.

I didn't hate raiden, I just found him and his whole story unnecessary and boring, I mean, who wants to play the same game they just beat a few years back, only with a new character who is NOT snake?

I hated Raiden because I wanted to play MGS2 for Snake. It even starts out with Snake, they know people want to play as Snake.

He also had terrible bosses, and I thought the story was kind of flip-flopping between kind of cool, and then kind of dumb, but that's a thing with all MG games, I just noticed it more cause I didn't like Raiden and I wanted to play as Snake. One of the things I liked about MGS2, though, was its rendition of the MGS theme, and the famous Fission Mailed part, because it managed to pull that off well, where other games would probably have made it awkward and weird.

Yeah, but since he became a badass in MGS4, I don't think it'll make as big a splash with him being in it.
