Attention: Guitar Hero zealots.

I dunno if it's been spread here, but a group of friends I hang out with and even people at work are highly against Rock Band for the rumor that they "stole Guitar Hero's idea" by creating the entire band. I've heard countless tales of how Rock Band was "developing" the rest of the band and Rock Band stole the concept.

You are wrong.

There are tons of reasons why, but the one that stands out the most [to me, anyway] is this:

It's called GUITAR hero. Not BAND hero, not ROCK hero. No.
Guitar Hero.

if anything guitar hero stole everything from rockband. if you look at guitar hero 1 on the back of the case it has harmonix mtv games and red octane on it, and harmonix and mtv games made rock band, and im pretty sure all red octane did was make the guitar controllers. most likely they split up because the makers of rockband wanted to add in the other instuments and red octane didnt want to.

Heres the fucking thing, GUITAR HERO WAS ORIGINALLY MADE BY HARMONIX, WHO THEN MADE ROCK BAND. So they didn't steel the idea, they made it in the first place then improved on it. Activision (the current creator of the new shitty guitar heros) stole the band idea from harmonix.
