Supposedly this is supposed to be pretty good quality. (Read the description) And it's relatively not that expensive. I'm thinking about putting some vocals in my songs and/or trying out voice acting. And I'm getting a laptop, so this should be perfect, the portability makes this look really promising. I just need something that will record my voice with 100% clarity and no white noise in the background. (if there is nothing making noise in the room that is) So I just want to know if it's worth it, if anyone here has it or has heard about it.

hmmm... i dont knows :P but if you are looking for good but not great sounds quality im sure it will be fine. I am suspect ... but i dno. Its definately cheaper than buying an interface and a mic... so... unless you want to make a fairly large investment that may be a good option.. but i dont know enough about it :P

my Mac8 submission
Please review :( (I'm in very much need of such)

It looks alright, but the portability makes it sort of suspicious.

I use This one. It works great, though make sure you don't have like a fan in the backround, otherwise it will pick it up because it's really sensitive. It wont play over your voice but it's really sensitive. My girlfriend has sung into it and it has cracked or popped or created any white noise. Of course the price isn't as "friendly"

To clarify, I'll probably rape whatever I record with a billion filters (lol trance vocals) and I don't really need anything super fancy. Plus I don't want to spend that much money and I probably won't use it that much.

for this price you can have a Shure C607
i have one and i recorded voice and trumpet with it, sounds quite good
also, you can take a look HERE for vocal dynamic microphones, there you'll see some AKG from D series, quite decent and Audio Technica PRO 31 cheaper than snowflake.

Can't really help with the microphone, but if you'll be using it with a laptop then make sure the laptops got some grunt to run it with. USB devices are mostly handled on the cpu, which can cause a few issues of their own when you're using high bandwidth devices.

If you're getting a dual core laptop, this is less likely to be a problem as (in theory) one core can handle the USB stuff while the others running your audio suite, but a lot of cheaper laptops are still shipping with celerons or semprons, so you'll want to keep an eye out.

Harddrives on laptops are slower than their desktop equilavents as well, so running regular defrags will be more important than ever.

I use a RODE Podcaster, and besides the one time I plugged it in upside down and it blew out my motherboard, it's the best mic i've ever seen.

Blue makes fantastic mics. I wouldn't think twice before buying anything with their name on it.

The snowflake has gotten excellent reviews - for 60 bucks It seems to be a pretty good deal.

It's a lot cheaper than a Rode Podcaster which will set you back almost four times as much...

If you're going to buy one, I'd recommend going through Sweetwater - they'll give you the same price and their customer service is excellent.

Buy one! buy one!
