Hey all, I recently haven't been able to play any flashes from Newgrounds on my computer from any browser. I've already tried reinstalling everything, but to no avail. Anyone have any suggestions to help me out?

Might want to check in your browser preferences that you haven't blocked out flash animations from being played... I think it's under the web features tab or something. Other than that, I'm not entirely sure, unless you haven't got the latest flash plugin, which I'm sure you have.

Yeah, I've done that. I've made sure I have the latest Java and Flash player. I've enable full access with java, but nothing has worked.

What actually happens when you try to play a flash? Any details that may help?

I see. For those that don't get it, (And there probably aren't any) it means the flash displays a blank white box, with the bar at the bottom of your browser saying "Done". The flash will not load, and if you right-click, it says "Movie not loaded".

OK, so how long has that been going on for? I've heard of this happening to people in the past intermittently, and in those cases it seems to be a problem with NG rather then the user's computer. If it's only been happening for a short while, check to see if you can play flash movies / games on other sites. If you can, I think it's a fairly safe bet that it's just a problem with NG, and it's likely it'll be fixed soon.

If not, all i can suggest is taking interim measures, like clearing your browser's cache (Ctrl + F5 in case you weren't sure), re-starting your browser / computer, etc etc.

I can play flashes on other websites, so it probably IS a problem with NG.

Actually, everyone with a Windows OS that I know is having problems with NG.

Well i am having flash issues as well. The videos will load and start to play, but stop 2 or 3 seconds into them, and won't start playing again...i tried other sites and its doing it everywhere.

This happens to me every now and then whether I'm on my Win XP laptop OR my Vista desktop. And it can happen in either Opera OR Firefox.

How many tabs do you have open?

It only happens to me when I've opened dozens of tabs in the same browser session. Even if you close most of the tabs you open, memory leaks (in your RAM) can occur. Firefox and Opera may be better than IE these days, but they're still not perfect.

Restart your browser to try loading the flashes again. If that doesn't work, try a full reboot.

Note: this also occurs with YouTube vids. I've taxed the hell out of Opera so bad that nothing I opened would play, but I would paste any YouTube vids or NG flash URLs over to Firefox and boom, instant workage.

Restarting your browser more often and rebooting your computer = keeps yer RAM nice and clean.
