Hi users of the Gay/Bisexual club. I'm not here to join, I assume you have to be homosexual / bisexual to join, I'm neither. However, that's not why I'm here. I'm sure there is a mixture of males and females in this club, you may or may have not seen the video I'm about to link, but I'd like to see your opinions on this, hopefully this won't start some stupid discussion.

It's because it's more socially acceptable for women to embrace thier emotions. Two women can be seen as the ultimate embrace of femininity, because that's what intimacy has become associated with. Women are projected as being pure creatures of much beauty. Men on the otherhand...Think about the stereotypical hetero relationship - the male is accepted to be caring because people assume it to be for a bit of tail, or likewise dump the fact that there is a woman present and she's making it happen. With two guys, there's no 'beauty'. It's 'beauty'less, because males do not embody the emotions we think of in a relationship. Women are accepted because they rarely can do wrong, where as men, we're all seen as murderers, pedophiles, stalkers and all that is evil in the world. So it's really just societies view point that makes it ugly due to gender connotations.

It's because of what society wants men to be. A guy kissing or even hugging another guy is seen as feminine and therefore unacceptable. With women it's more accepted because showing affection for someone else is a more "womanly" feminine trait.

Yeah, there's a big taboo on men showing affection towards each other in general, gay or otherwise. Men are expected to be strong and hard, while women are expected to, like podburrys said, embrace femininity.

Guys, guys. What do we really have against eachother? What is the rational reason for such conflicts? If there's something a large group of you disagree with then you can always make a second gay club.

I'm not really a member of this club, but was looking through it and noticed the link to the "Lesbian Love but Fag Fear" video.

It is an interesting question is it not, and the responses I've seen all have that ring of truth. My own theory of why this is though, is slightly different.

I've found women in general to be more open about homosexuality, whether male or female, wheras I've seen men who enjoy girl on girl but are revolted by men with men. Perhaps it comes down to their own insecurities and discomfort, or even an inability to grasp why.
