how is "featured artist" decided???

...because it seems pretty random to me. I would've thought that a featured artist would be someone who has published a lot of music in the AP, or who consistently scores well... but I remember seeing a featured artist a few weeks ago who had posted about 5 songs (rough guess) and they all scored 3 or less.....

so is it random or is there some selection process that occurs?

that featured artist i was talking about hadn't posted a song in 3 years or something. They might not have even known that they'd been the featured artist!

Frontpage audio gets picked the same way flash gets picked for frontpage. Whatever the mod (or Rucklo *cough*) thinks is interesting is chosen.

Contradictory comments?
Rucklo says that it's random (acually, SBB said that too), but then DzGuy comes along and states that Mods choose. Most likley: DzGuy is just guessing, and probably could have read what Rucklo wrote BEFORE posting... or... Rucklo and SBB are hiding the truth from us, and Mods DO in fact, choose the featured artists ! ! !

With all the advanced code and technology Newgrounds has, I wouldn't be surprised if it was all done randomly (assuming the artist has acually submitted audio). I mean, all the "Top 5 of the Week" stuff is computer automated.
Mabye though, the featured artist is the person who has recieved the most audio reviews for their songs over the week (not just one song, but spread out). That way, the system can assume that they are popular or something. I dunno XD
