i play bass guitar, mainly because i find playing bass fun and there are some really good bassists to play to, oh, and i can afford a bass.

there's not a lot of pianists i know or look up to, nor do i find playing piano to be fun, as most pianists mostly don't end up in bands and the like, which is the opposite for what i am trying to pursue.

I don't know why you think that. I already stated on the previous page that that is completely untrue and most bands in every genre do contain a pianist.

I took piano lessons from before I was in Kindergarten up to 8th grade. I now play the drums. I've been playing them since I was about, 9 or 10. I gave up the piano because frankly, I was bored with it and wanted to play the drums more and more.

y'know, guitars can make you looke cultured as well, if it's an acoustic. and the hair is just for show, and sound is easily modified with different pickups, palm muting, harmonics, pedals and playing styles on guitar. making you look stupid.

Master the ways of the piano, and you can perform any type of music, from baroque classical to techno.

most bands in every genre has a pianist? i doubt so, the sound of a piano is almost too nocturne for some genres, unless it's a melodic band, you won't see many keys in those few genres.

Just because people don't use it in a way doesn't mean it can't be used in that way.

They all use the same notes.

I actually really want to learn piano. I recently found out that I enjoy classical music more than contemporary music. I find that it moves you more than song with lyrics do. I wish I had a teacher.

The piano is implented into classic rock, rap, hip hop, heavy metal, industrial, "indie" rock, hard rock, soft rock, jazz, bossanova, swing, disco, electronica, techno, there are so many bands out there that use a keyboard in their music, it's ridiculous to claim that it's only useful for classical.

i'm not saying the piano has no influence on music anno 2008, nor am i saying there's no place for piano in genres of music. i'm only saying that 'most' is a big number in comparison with the bands that actually use piano's.

you could probably name a million bands that use keyboards, but that's not relevant to the subject.
