Piano:
- Get's more bitches considering the sheer debonair vibe it gives
- You don't need to grow your hair 10 feet long
- Sound is easily modified
All of this is opinionated, of course, but admit it - Piano will make you look like a cultured motherfucker and not some douche trying to play guitar.

I actually agree. Someone who can master the piano can make the beautiful sounds come from it. the guitar is overated.

guitars are more sexually attractive. pianos are so big they make your penis look small in comparison.

Well, guitars and pianos both give different feeling to music. I don't really think of them as sex-magnets.
Guitars and pianos both have totally different sounds, but both have a wide variety of sounds and effects, so it's all preference. Of course everyone can play the guitar, but who can't play a fairly simple song on the piano with a week or two of determination and think they're all that and classy?

An instrument can't be over-rated. It's an object.
It doesn't do anything. It is only used, it does not do the creating, you can't rate something like that.
Unless you want to be like "that guitar sounds better than the other one."

Anything can be an object. So nothing can be overrated?
I'm your average Afro-American fetus. For example: I enjoy basketball, I'm rather good when I play too, but I'm much too busy scratching my horrific cracked skin these days.

Inanimate object*. Still the sentiment is somewhat true, one cannot have more than enough information on a certain object. They're all just different opinions. Sure there's been a guitar craze, but this isn't over-ratedness. Over use maybe.
But still I would use a term more along the lines of popular or something.
There are so many paths on any instrument to put one above another is kind illogical. You could compare styles maybe more accurately.

Kids choosing to play it JUST because it's a guitar make it overrated.

That's not the instrument's fault though.
"makes it over-rated."
That statement implies that the guitar assumes responsibility.
That's not really possible.
A band can be over-rated. "The way kids pick up guitars" can be stupid and over-rated.
An instrument can't be. Again you are confusing "guitar styles" with the instrument itself, which has no bounds. So let's stop and think.
You're using only the information YOU have been presented withconcerning guitars, in your own experiences.
This is not enough for something so complex.

Haha, you're making a mountain out of a molehill.
I don't personally think the sound froma guitar is great, I would prefer to listen to a piano and violin being played, so to me yes it makes the guitar overrated for what it is, but that's just me.

You can also do so much more with a guitar, and get MUCH better sounds from it...
A piano, a percussion/string instrument has the same sound no matter what, unless it's a synth, which doesn't sound that great either.
With guitar you can have so many effects, distortions, sounds, A LOT more technique than just pressing a key to get a sound, with the occasional sustain pedal use. Bending, vibrato, slides,pulls/hammers, whammy (If you're into that), tapping, hell you can use it as a percussion instrument, too. Listen to Chilli Peppers guitar, a piano will NEVER EVER sound like that.
There.

Also, if you play piano, you can play just about fucking anything else, because you learn how to read music that's used for just about everything else.

Not really. You can learn to read music through other instruments, theory applies to all instruments (not weird third world country instruments).
Although, I agree there's too many guitar players and to be recognized you either have to make the tastiest riff in the world, or be better than Paul Lane (PG + Shawn Lane >_> )

Again, this sounds is coming from where? ONLY from.
Guitars you have heard.
There are guitars that haven't even been created yet. So that opinion is based on nothing besides the information you CHOOSE to affiliate yourself with.
Piano IS the shit, and there needs to be more songs that focus on it, oh wait there are millions of them. So again the over-rated argument isn't really there in my opinion. Every other time the artist on a late show is playing a piano.
I just really don't see where you're coming from. What kind of sound do you like? You can make a guitar sound like a piano, you can make a piano sound like a guitar.

I like a man who knows his guitar... other than classic piano.
But if they know both, then double thumbs up.

Yeah it does, and so do I. Let's make an Awesome club that you can only join if you don't take sides with an instrument and if you're not an idiot.
Wait that statement was redundant, I'm sorry.
What can a thoughtful man hope for mankind on Earth, given the experience of the past million years? Nothing
