I'm looking for someone to make a flash video for one of my songs. Now originally it was just going to stay at that, and if someone wanted to do it.. great. But I've changed my mind. It's now a contest.
Basically, I've got 3 songs that I will be posting here. All you have to do is pick one of the 3 songs, and make a short 20-40 second clip of a video idea.
Who ever makes the best gets a quick 25 bucks, simple as that.
(now I know that doesn't sound like alot but I figure that if you make a pretty decent "Trailer" I'd be quite inclined to pay you to finish up the project )
Really, it's that simple. How will the Submissions be judged ? Well, I've got to love the video! I'm leaving the ideas and creative process entirely up to you. Whatever you think would go with the song that you pick. But it's got to be awesome in my book. I'll choose the one that i like the most and the artist will recieve $25 via paypal or check, depending on what's easiest for you. (or 25 bucks worth of something online, like time cards or subscription fees or something like that)
ON TO BUSINESS
Here are the 3 songs
1. Escape From The Friend Zone Pt2 ( Very aggresive 8bit music. With guitar and breakcore drums((Attempt only if you're insane, decently long )))

2. I Would Have Hated Myself ( Very emotional Piano piece. Short and simple)

3. Kung Fu Koalas (Another 8bit Somewhat oriental with drum and bass style percussion)

There ya have it . That's my contest. I wish you all goodluck and am very excited to see what you guys can come up with
((Also, I'm going to track interest of this contest by the number of responses to this thread. If you have any questions please feel free to ask, Here or in a PM
If it looks like noones interested and i've only got 1 or two people wanting to participate, well than it's no longer a contest and that takes the fun out of it.))
whooops forgot to add one thing. I'll only be taking submissions until August 25th. So, that is the deadline. Sorry bout that, totally slipped my mind.
okie dokie well it looks like there is no interest in this so i'll leave ya guys alone, and scurry back to the dungeon of the AP.
I'll join if no one else even tries. Then I'll make the crappiest thing ever on purpose and still win :P
no witty signature at this time.

I'll be willing to make something a tiny bit better than the crappiest thing ever and win! But the deadline is too soon for me, cos I've another project going on....
well, if i get enough responses i suppose i can push the deadline back.
but remember... if there is only one entry that doesn't count ! that's not a contest it's a charity. and i'm a bitter old man. I don't do charity
well rather than make a 20-40second clip (which is actually still alot of work in the animation world) i would do it kind of the way they did it in the radiohead aniboom contest.. where phase 1 all you need to do is make like 30 seconds worth of storyboarding... that way people can explore ideas and for you its only a 20 dollar investment.. the reason aniboom did it that way is because to make a 30 second polished clip and not even win is very demoralizing and you feel like you just gave away a polished idea.. atleast with a storyboard you gave a good sense of what you wanted to do and you can walk away losing and not feeling like you gave away your soul.
meh thats just my advice

The only problem i have with that luis, is that someone could spend a bunch of time making a really good storyboard ... but then after they get their 20 dollars just bounce out... or worse .. be a horrible animator without the skills to finish the project. I mean, it's a good idea, but i'm not really a big name that people are going to really want to work hard for. So we'll change it up.
The person with the best storyboard. Will be the person that I work with to finish the project, where i will pay (probably somewhere in the range of 75-100 dollars depending on quality )
How's that work as a contest ?
