Newgrounds Failing? Think Again.

Over the past years, I've heard from many disgruntled users grumbling about how much the Newgrounds BBS is going downhill.

They complained about "bad" mods, unoriginal and uninteresting threads, increased flaming and stupidity, and other stuff.

However when I look at the current Newgrounds forum, I see mostly improvements.

For one, the video game forum is completely different. At first it started with sharp disagreements and flaming, but gradually, now most of the major "players" such as Tehretard, Sniperwolf, and SlipperyMooseCakes are banding up and putting their differences aside to combat utter idiot fanboys like DasUberCow. I commend them for that. I see less and less flaming in the video game forum then before.

Another thing I see is how more interesting the new threads are in the general forum. I don't even remember the crap that people posted back then, but all I can say that I'm actually interested in the new threads that are rolled out by clever people.

Also a short note about the mods, they are doing an excellent job.

However there are also the negative sides of the current BBS. Yes there are still some very mean and aggressive users who like to troll and flame in the BBS, but I see now that this is lessening relatively to last year.

Currently, I'd say Newgrounds is improving. When the VG forum came out, the general was in a bad state, but I would say its good now.

I find myself not wanting to reply to many of the threads I look through, mostly because I have no interest in them, and when I do find interest in a topic somehow I always get banned for a day because I have broken a non existent BBS rule. What is this rule you might ask? Posting in a topic a moderator deems spam. Now don't get me wrong, spam exists, but the wrong topics and people are getting targeted in some cases, but overall I can't really complain. The BBS has its days and my enjoyment varies.

Anyways, I noticed improvements. The BBS in 07 made me facepalm and not want to post every single day. I'm glad the mods and admins are being more threatening nowadays about bans and deletions. That way everybody will shit bricks and obey.

and you post roughly 80% in flash and audio.

It hasn't failed, but it totally sucks now compared to back in the day. Trolls were quite amusing then and almost all the time if you had any questions about the board, flash, or whatever, you'd definitely always get responses.
