This will happen to the XBox 360.

You remember when all Nintendo, Sega and Sony were in the competition? When Sony released Playstation 1 it was more popular than the Ninteno 64 and Sega Saturn combined. Now, with Microsoft releasing the XBOX 360 and it being potentially better than the PS3 and Wii, the PS3 will die off and the Xbox and (Possibly Nintendo) will live on. After a while they're competition will be blown away with another electronics company and the past will repeat itself.

Hold it, different circumstances. Microsoft has ALWAYS had a hold on anything computer related, so they know how to play the game.

I know that this troll isn't really worth feeding, but the Wii is currently outselling both the PS3 and 360

Back in the day there wasn't much variety in graphics. So a system that brought good graphics and had some gameplay was bound to do good.
The reason the PS3 and the Wii haven't died off is because they all bring something different to the table.
The PS3 bring shiny graphics but lacking in the creative gameplay department.
The 360 brings shiny graphics and gameplay while the xbox live playerbase could be represented by a bunch of baboons in heat.
And the Wii appeals to the young 6 to 13 year old demographic or the "cool bachelor who has friends" demographic. It's fun and different but that doesn't mean better. As yatzhee said "Good with children but get rather annoying"
That's why all 3 consoles are still on the market and doing good.
Following your logic, why hasn't the PC taken over yet? It has everything you could ever want as a gamer.

Microsoft will dominate everything one day... I've said it from the day the Microsoft announced they where making the original XBox. Why? Because it's Microsoft... they have more money, employees, and resorceses the anybody on the planet. Just like Windows OS they'll suck shit at it at first but slowly get better until they dominate the market forcing you to use their products or suffer. Money can do that.
Personally, I think Sony can put up a hell of a fight in the future if they learn from their mistakes. The PS1 and PS2 where great systems. It just seems to me that they went way too far out in left field this time around and tried to pull in buyers with all the wrong features. Blue Ray is just too damn expensive and it seems very few gamers give a fuck about watching High-Def movies.
I know Blue Ray holds more info so it benefits the games in the long run, but what's the point? There are tons of really great games currently out on DVD that don't cost an arm and a leg to purchase. And it seems nothing really spectacular has utilized the Blue Ray system because most of the developers plan for multi-console release. High cost of the system kept system sales down and in return, Sony started losing or struggling to gain exclusive titles. It's just too much, too soon, with too high a price tag.

I know! The excitement of seeing weather or not the bloody thing works is intense! And then going to PC-World to spend a bajillion dollars/pounds on a new video card, and then being broke for the next month! IN fact, I'm getting horny just thinking about it!
my opinion = fact

To casual gamers.
Now compare game sales instead of system units.

They may have the money, but they simply aren't as experienced, or good, as Nintendo is at the game scene. Besides, Windows still sucks shit, just less than when they began.

Most people who have Wii's never play them because most owners are just fat 12 year olds whose parents want them to get slimmer. But the truth is they are to lazy to move their arms so they never play it.

In the top 10: 6 Wii games, 2 DS games, 1 xbox, and 1 PS3
In the top 20: 8 Wii games, 8 DS games, 2 xbox, and 2 PS3
And then, the % of total sales in hardware and software (clockwise descending percentages from the top).
Note how when comparing the hardware + software sales, the larger 360 software sales come from a chunk taken out of the psp sales (lol psp hardware sales wtf?), rather than out of the wii/ds combo, as would be expected if wii/ds owners didn't buy many games.

Nintendo doesn't have anything... a bunch of series that they created in the 80s and a few gimicks. Don't get me wrong, I like Nintendo, but you can't let your love for the company hide the facts.
Nintendos game catalog contains nothing but a bunch of shit they made years and years ago. Mario, Metroid, Zelda, and even Kid Icaris where all original NES games. Starfox was a SNES game so it's not much better off. Nintendo hasn't come up with an original game series since 1992. I'd almost give them Pikmin but they don't seem to care much about that game so I don't consider it a series. Maybe they'll change that in the future, but right now it seems like Pikmin is dead.
The systems themself usually have the worst overall graphics, less power, and a cheaper cost. The games are fun, but only because they're surrounded by some unique gimmick.. be it the power glove, the running pad, or their two screen portable systems and new motion sensored Wii. Nintendo never has enough power behind their games anymore to actually compete head on. They have to throw that little soemthign stupid in there to peek peoples interest. And recently, Nintendo hasn't done a very good job of keeping that interest up. Everybody wants a Wii but 6 months after buying one most gamers have put it away and moved back to the 360 or PS3.
I love the Wii but what games does it have? I think I own maybe 4... and I haven't heard about a new Wii exclusive game that I care about in a long, long time. Even their awesome virtual console went to shit when Microsoft started buying out all the old 3rd party developers. The Wii is stuck porting in old Sega Mastersystem games nobody gives a fuck about while Microsoft is busy buying the rights to Banjo Kazooie and Goldeneye.
Once again, I'm not hateing on Nintendo at all... but this is a clear cut example where Microsofts dollar beats the competition. Anything they don't have, they can just buy.... and that's exactly what they do. Unless something major happens, this is how it's going to continue to be until Microsoft has a lock on the gaming industry like they do everything else.

That's not the point. Love it or loathe it, Microsoft does have over 90% of the market share, and is quite easily THE dominating force in the operating systems market, and as such, the PC market. Regardless of what Bolo thinks steve jobs will pull out of his magical hat next, as far as i'm concerned they are going to stay a key player for the near future without a shadow of a doubt, unless something truly unforeseeable happens.

Well id have to agree with your statement here in the U.S. but looking at the number of units sold world wide, Playstation 3 is top dog in most of Europe and XBOX is second place with Wii in last. In Japan, Wii is top then PS3 and then 360, with 360 being in suprisingly low numbers, below 200,000 units being sold as of a few months ago. All over the world people think differently of each system so we technically cant say which one is "the best" but I think that 360 would be top dog eventually...

Oh Console War.... Why must you piss me off so.... Sure yeah, 360 has a lot of good games, but damnit, it's only because they buy 3rd party companies! The Wii provides actual movement with more than the fingers, but it lacks the bit-rate to compete graphically with the other 2 consoles. As for the PS3...it outmatches the 360 and Wii graphically, but there is a huge lack of good games, along with those unneeded features, not to mention the price. All consoles will live on, but the 360 will be the the main attraction. It's just so sad....

You know, the PS3 is outselling the Xbox 360 in terms of hardware at the moment.
It just doesn't have the edge in overall numbers due to the late start.
